  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Out of lineup Wednesday

LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

The switch-hitting Christhian Adames will take over at the keystone in place of LeMahieu on Wednesday after LeMahieu had started five days in a row. LeMahieu figures to rejoin the lineup for Thursday's series opener in San Francisco against Matt Cain.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Giants' Matt Duffy: Not in lineup Wednesday

Duffy is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Reds.

It's only the second day off of the season for Duffy, who's hitting .241 with a pair of homers and nine RBI as the everyday third baseman. He'll be replaced Wednesday by Conor Gillaspie, who will hit sixth in the order.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Hits first home run against Royals

Rendon hit his first home run, a solo blast, and walked in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.

Rendon now has a five-game hitting streak as he is starting to show some life after a brutal start to the season. He is still hitting just .240/.307/.317, but he has raised his OPS by 50 points over the past five games. Rendon is off the schneid, but his power production remains a big question mark going forward. He has just six home runs in his past 105 games (411 at-bats) after hitting 21 in his rookie season in 2014 (153 games, 613 at-bats).

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Dealing with hip issue

Segura is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup due to a hip issue, Nick Piecoro of AZCentral Sports reports.

This makes it a bit clearer as to why Arizona decided to keep the young middle infielder on the bench Sunday and now Tuesday. That being said, the issue isn't considered serious, and Segura could return to the lineup as soon as Wednesday. Phil Gosselin will likely see an uptick in playing time while Segura treats this ailment.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Not in lineup Tuesday

Segura is not in the lineup Tuesday for the series opener against the Marlins.

This is the second game in a row that Segura has not started. The young middle infielder hadn't had a day off since April 17, so the Diamondbacks are likely just trying to rest him more now to avoid overworking him over the long season. Once again, Phil Gosselin will play second base in his place, batting leadoff.

  • Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL

    Brewers' Yadiel Rivera: Starting Tuesday

Rivera is in the lineup and batting eighth for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

He will receive his second straight start and likely continue to see significant time while Scooter Gennett is on the 15-day DL. The 24-year-old went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI in Monday's start against the Angels.

  • Cody Asche 3B | NYM

Phillies' Cody Asche: No timetable for return

Asche (oblique) has been swinging a bat, but has not progressed to taking batting practice yet, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Asche is at the Phillies' spring training complex in Florida rehabbing his oblique injury. Manager Pete Mackanin said Asche is a "ways away" from returning to the team. The Phillies are being cautious after Asche suffered a setback in late March trying to return too soon from the injury.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Braves' Jace Peterson: Optioned to Triple-A on Monday

Peterson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Peterson was a pleasant surprise for the Braves during the second half of last season, but a rough .182 batting average to start the season was enough to send the 25-year-old back to the minors. There's a good chance that he could rejoin the major league club if he hits well in the minor leagues, though, as the Braves don't exactly have many set options in their lineup.

  • Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL

Brewers' Yadiel Rivera: Back in the lineup Monday

Rivera is back in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

The Brewers' lineup has been in flux since Scooter Gennett hit the DL last week, and Rivera did not start Saturday or Sunday, but he's back in the mix against Jered Weaver for Monday's series opener. Rivera will bat eighth for the Brewers on Monday night.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Stays hot versus Arizona

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored during Sunday's loss to Arizona.

Arenado has been hot over his last five games, compiling a .455 average, four home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored during that span. He has raised his average 45 points during the streak and is among the four-category elite as things currently stand.
