Segura went 3-for-5 with a walk and a pair of doubles and runs scored in the Diamondbacks extra innings win over the Mets on Wednesday.

Segura had been just a bit cold of late, hitting just .254 over his previous 15 games entering Wednesday, but turned things around with the three-hit day. The solid night raised Segura's batting average to .311 on the year, and the doubles give him 41 extra-base hits, more than respectable for a leadoff hitter.

Peterson is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Brewers.

Typically Peterson gets the nod against righties, but after notching just one hit in his last 15 at-bats he will take a seat Wednesday against righty Chase Anderson. Gordon Beckham will get the start at second base and hit seventh.

Arenado homered and drove in two runs in a 2-for-4 game in Monday's win over the Rangers.

Arenado already has four home runs and 10 RBI in just seven games in August, not to mention a 5:3 BB:K. His 30 home runs continues to top the National League, and only Edwin Encarnacion and Mark Trumbo with 31 each have him bested in the junior circuit.

Arenado finished 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double, five RBI and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Marlins.

Nobody else in the Rockies lineup managed more than one hit, but the club still had a chance to win because of Arenado, who launched home runs in the fourth and fifth innings before doubling in another run in the seventh. Arenado now leads the National League with 29 home runs and 87 RBI, and he sits second with 80 runs scored this season.

Segura went 2-for-5 and tallied his 19th steal of the season in Sunday's win over the Brewers.

Segura also went 2-for-5 on Saturday while collecting his 10th home run of the season. On the heels of disappointing 2014 and 2015 seasons, Segura has been electric since his move to Arizona this year. His slash line is now up to .309/.357/.455, rates which would all be career bests for the 26-year-old.

Reynolds will start at shortstop and hit ninth in the order Sunday against the Tigers, ESPN.com's Adam Rubin reports.

Reynolds will be making his sixth start at shortstop in seven games since his Aug. 1 promotion, so it appears he'll act as the everyday option at the position while Asdrubal Cabrera (knee) and Jose Reyes (ribs) are on the DL. The 25-year-old homered in his first game after the call-up, but has since gone 1-for-14 over his last four starts.

Peterson is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

He will sit for the second time in three days as Gordon Beckham mans second and Ender Inciarte leads off against lefty Jaime Garcia. The 26-year-old Peterson has posted a respectable .753 OPS in 68 games, but the lack of power or speed hurts his fantasy appeal, and the hot-hitting Inciarte could steals more starts in the leadoff spot moving forward.

McMahon, 21, is batting .353 with two home runs and 11 RBI in his last 10 games for Double-A Hartford.

After struggling for virtually the entire season, McMahon has finally started hitting the ball. Perhaps most importantly, he has more walks (7) than strikeouts (5) over these last 10 contests, indicating that he is seeing the ball much better of late. His average has risen to .243 on the year.

Asche is out of the lineup Thursday against the Giants, the Philly Voice's Ryan Lawrence reports.

The Phillies will try the combination of Jimmy Paredes and Tyler Goeddel in the outfield corners Thursday. Even though Asche has been in the lineup pretty frequently this season, it would seem that Aaron Altherr and Odubel Herrera are the only outfielders who can be assured five or six starts each week going forward, as they have the best chance of profiling as contributors on the next winning Phillies team.

Arenado went 2-for-3 with his 27th homer, a walk, three RBI and three runs against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

He was lifted for a pinch hitter late with the game well in hand, or Arenado could have added even more to that sparkling line. He's now tied injured teammate Trevor Story for the National League lead in homers with 27, and his 82 RBI are good enough to lead the senior circuit. Considering how much contact Arenado makes and how thunderous it tends to be, it's stunning that he's been such a low-BABIP hitter (.272 this year, .287 in his career) despite playing in Coors Field for half his games. At some point in future seasons, more hits are going to start falling in for Arenado, and he's going to start contending for Triple Crown.
