Peterson has been scratched from Monday's lineup against Arizona for undisclosed reasons.

It's unclear what's wrong with Peterson or if he will be available off the bench in a pinch-hitting role. Consider him day-to-day until we hear more.

Suarez went 3-for-4 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

He continues to put together a great August, as Suarez is now slashing .333/.372/.542 with two homers, 11 RBI and 12 runs in 72 at-bats on the month.

Arenado had a big day at the plate Sunday versus the Cubs, finishing 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI in the 11-4 victory.

Arenado crushed a three-run home run in the first inning and chased Jason Hammel from the game when he repeated the feat in the fourth inning. Arenado now leads baseball with 104 RBI, and his pair of long-balls vaulted him past Kris Bryant for the top spot in the National League.

Segura is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Jody Jackson of Fox Sports Arizona reports.

Chris Owings will bat leadoff and start at shortstop as the Diamondbacks give Segura the day off. Apart from an 0-for-4 outing Saturday, Segura has been spectacular at the plate recently. Over the last 14 games, he's hitting .397/.424/.651 with two home runs and seven RBI.

Rendon is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves.

Rendon continued his second-half surge Saturday with four hits in five at-bats, but he started every game for over a month, so manager Dusty Baker decided it was time for Rendon's first day off since July 19. Wilmer Difo will man the hot corner in Rendon's place.

Peterson is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Peterson went 0-for-9 over the last four games he played in, so manager Brian Snitker decided to hold him out of Friday's lineup. Gordon Beckham will man the keystone for the Braves on Friday night.

Segura went 2-for-4 with a double, his 11th homer, two RBI and two runs against the Padres on Thursday.

That's four straight games with a double for Segura, just the latest surge in what can truly be described as a season-long hot streak. The middle-infield spark plug hasn't seen his average dip under .300 since a brief cold spell in the first half of June, and he's now coming up on new career marks in homers (just one shy) and RBI (three short of last year's 50) to go along with his .315/.362/.473 slash line (career highs across the board).

Newman, 23, is hitting .307/.373/.391 with one home run and five steals in 179 at-bats with Double-A Altoona.

Newman is a tough player to value from a fantasy perspective, as everyone agrees he has one of the better pure hit tools in the minor leagues, but everyone also seems to agree he offers very little power potential. Additionally, Newman may be best served moving from shortstop to second base, and he doesn't offer more than 10-to-15 steal upside annually. However, he has a 33:36 K:BB in 343 at-bats this year in the minors, and profiles perfectly as a leadoff hitter at the highest level. All told, Newman could hit .300 while scoring 100-plus runs and chipping in double-digit steals while qualifying at second base. That's not the sexiest package in the world, but it would make him a borderline top-10 fantasy option at the position. Look for Newman to make his MLB debut next summer.

Segura went 3-for-5 with a double and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

Segura has been on fire in August, registering a .321/.367/.536 line through his first 13 games of the month. He's also up to 24 steals, to go along with 10 home runs in what's been a bounceback season for the 26-year-old, who struggled at the plate in 2015 and 2014.

LeMahieu homered, tripled, walked, scored three times, and knocked in two batters in a 3-for-3 game Tuesday against the Nationals.

LeMahieu is white hot, as he is now 7-for-7 in his past two games and extended his hitting streak to eight games with Tuesday's performance. He has three doubles, a triple and two home runs and six walks and zero strikeouts in this stretch, as he is not only hitting the ball for power but exhibiting stellar plate discipline. LeMahieu's line is up to a brilliant .342/.415/.498. Only Jose Altuve, Daniel Murphy and Matt Carpenter have a better OPS than LeMahieu's .913 among qualified second basemen.
