  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Pops fourth homer

Escobar went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Giants.

Escobar took Giants starter Johnny Cueto deep in the seventh inning for the Diamondbacks' only run in the game. The 31-year-old Escobar is slashing .200/.292/.350 with four homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored and a stolen base through 34 games this season. He showed some signs of life at the plate against the Giants, going 3-for-9 with a homer, a triple and a pair of walks in the three-game series.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: Leaves Game 2 with injury

Davis exited the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Yankees with an apparent injury, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Davis grounded into a double play to end the sixth inning, and he subsequently left the game with a trainer. The nature and severity of the issue aren't yet known.

  • Diamondbacks' Eduardo Escobar: Slugs second triple

Escobar went 1-for-3 with a walk and a triple in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Giants.

Escobar, who led the Diamondbacks with 10 triples in 2019, hit his second of 2020. More than other struggling Arizona hitters, Escobar's production dip in 2020 is the most noticeable. His career-best .831 OPS of 2019 sits at .600 following Saturday's contest. Nothing glaring stands out as an obvious root cause, though he's hitting fewer fly balls and more grounders. This may also be a case of an unlucky hitter -- Escobar's BABIP is at .209.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Drives in four

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, four RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Rangers.

Muncy was a big part of the Dodgers' offensive effort, first driving in Austin Barnes on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. He followed that up with a three-run homer in the seventh frame, his ninth of the campaign. Muncy was hitless in his past two games, but he now has three home runs in his past six contests. Overall, he's hitting .198/.322/.446 with 19 runs scored and 20 RBI across 146 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Shows no signs of slowing down

Machado went 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice in a victory over the Rockies on Friday.

Machado has not only strung together a 10-game hitting streak, but he has also notched multi-hit efforts in eight of those contests. Over his last four games, the 28-year-old has an absurd 1.964 OPS, going 11-for-17 with three homers and six RBI. The red-hot run has brought Machado's average to a healthy .308 on the season.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Belts fourth homer

Segura went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 7-4 win over the Braves on Friday.

Segura imitated Andrew McCutchen's two-run shot in the third inning with one of his own the following inning to extend the lead to 4-1. It was his first home run since Aug. 15 and his fourth on the year as he upped his RBI total to eight on the season. Segura still has a .235/.326/.407 slash line despite hitting safely in 12 of his last 14 games.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Launches fifth homer

Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a 7-4 loss to the Phillies on Friday.

Ender Inciarte led off the seventh inning with a home run and Riley followed him up with a blast of his own. The young third baseman has tallied a hit in seven of his last eight games but is still hitting just .216/.263/.409 on the season.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Goes deep in loss

Longoria went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss against the Diamondbacks.

Longoria has hit safely in four of his last five games, and he snapped a five-game homer drought with his sixth-inning blast off Zac Gallen. Longoria has been one of the top hitters for the Giants of late, and he has gone 15-for-36 (.416) with two homers, eight RBI and 10 runs scored over San Francisco's last 10 games.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Double, homer against Cubs

Suarez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Cubs.

Suarez got off to one of the slowest starts in baseball this season, but all of a sudden he's up to seven homers, with four of those coming in his last six games. He's raised his OPS from .560 to .728 in that span, so Suarez is bringing his numbers around in a hurry and still has a month left to improve his stats.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: No update yet

There's been no update on Senzel's (undisclosed injury) status, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

This comment was made by Nightengale in the context of the Reds designating Phillip Ervin for assignment, leaving the team with only four active outfielders.
