Kieboom went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Phillies.
The young third baseman made his first homer of the year a dramatic one, as he took Ian Kennedy deep in the ninth inning to give the Nats a spark of life, but his teammates couldn't complete the comeback. Kieboom may be finally getting comfortable in the majors, as he's gone 6-for-16 (.375) while starting each of the last five games.

Giants' Evan Longoria: Nearing rehab stint
Longoria (shoulder) could start a rehab assignment later in the week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Longoria started a hitting progression near the end of July and continues to ramp up his baseball activities. If all goes well, the team could send him out on a rehab stint later in the week. He figures to need at least a handful of appearances in the minors after missing the last two months with a shoulder sprain.

Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Starting against Brewers
Castro will hit seventh and play second base Monday night against Milwaukee.
Castro is batting .222 with five homers in 36 at-bats for Pittsburgh. He homered in his lone at-bat against Monday starter Eric Lauer. Castro figures to see semi-regular playing time as part of a rotation at second base for the rest of 2021.

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Takes seat Monday
Anderson isn't starting Monday's game against the Mets, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Anderson snapped a six-game hit streak in Sunday's loss to the Yankees, and he'll retreat to the bench for the first time since he returned from the injured list July 24. Isan Diaz will start at the hot corner and bat fifth.

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Reinstated from injured list
Peterson was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Monday.
Peterson spent nearly a week away from the team due to contact tracing, but he'll be available for Monday's series opener against the Pirates. Prior to his absence, the 31-year-old had gone 4-for-21 with a run, an RBI, two stolen bases and three walks across seven games since the All-Star break.

Segura went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Pittsburgh.
Segura was another top performer for Philadephia on Sunday, but the reality is that the second baseman has been seeing the ball extremely well over the last few weeks and has hit safely in all but one of his last 13 games, posting a .278/.355/.463 slash line with two homers, 10 RBI, four doubles, seven runs scored and a 6:6 BB:K in that span.

Cardinals' Edmundo Sosa: Reaches base four times
Sosa went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 7-3 win over Minnesota.
Sosa knocked two singles, including an RBI base hit in the sixth inning, and an eighth-inning solo shot in Sunday's victory. It was the third homer of the season for the 25-year-old infielder and his first since July 6, which was also the last time he registered a multi-hit game. Sosa owns a .681 OPS with eight extra-base hits through 184 plate appearances.

McMahon is not in the lineup Sunday at San Diego, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.
McMahon went 3-for-3 with a grand slam Friday but is otherwise 0-for-8 with five strikeouts in the series, and he'll take a seat for the finale versus the Friars. Rio Ruiz will start at the hot corner in his place.

The Giants optioned Vosler to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.
Vosler was dropped from the 26-man roster to make room for the newly acquired Kris Bryant, who was activated ahead of his team debut Sunday against the Astros. During his latest stint with the big club, Vosler appeared in nine games and went 1-for-14 with a base hit and seven strikeouts.
