  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Rare extra-base hit in easy win

Bohm went 2-for-4 with an RBI double during the Phillies' 7-0 win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Bohm badly needed some kind of spark amid what's been a miserable start to his season. Tuesday's effort marked the first time since April 6 that the third baseman logged both an extra-base hit and an RBI in the same game. Bohm, who's hitting .157 with four extra-base hits, 12 RBI and six runs scored across 102 at-bats, opened the year as Philadelphia's cleanup hitter but has hit sixth or lower in the batting order in each of his last 15 starts.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Cubs' Alex Bregman: Getting first night off Tuesday

Bregman is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Bregman started the first 29 games of the season for the Cubs, so this will be his first night out of the starting lineup. Matt Shaw is making the start at third base and batting ninth for Chicago. Bregman is 0-for-10 at the plate over the last three contests after hitting safely in 14 of the previous 16 games.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Machado (leg) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Machado made an early exit from Monday's game due to a leg injury, and although manager Craig Stammen said after the game that the 33-year-old third baseman is fine, the Padres will keep him on the bench Tuesday as a precaution. Jake Cronenworth will make his first career start at the hot corner as a result, moving Fernando Tatis to second base and giving Bryce Johnson a start in right field.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Exits as precaution

Manager Craig Stammen said after Monday's game against the Cubs that Machado is "fine" and was removed from the contest as a precautionary move, Marty Caswell of Foul Territyory reports.

The veteran third baseman came out of the batter's box awkwardly and wasn't moving well down the line in the sixth inning Monday, so the Padres elected to lift him from the contest after he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored. Stammen didn't mention a specific injury but indicated Machado's lower half wasn't feeling great after a couple of slides into second base. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's matchup with Chicago.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Exits with injury

Machado left Monday's game against the Cubs with an unspecified injury, 97.3 The Fan reports.

Machado left the matchup after grounding out to end the bottom of the sixth inning. He made it about halfway up the line before turning around and walking slowly off the field. The nature of Machado's injury is unclear at this time, so he can be considered day-to-day until the club has another update to share.

  • Parks Harber 3B | SF

Giants' Parks Harber: Returns from MiLB IL

Harber (hamstring) was activated from the 7-day injured list Friday.

Harber suffered a Grade 2 right hamstring strain in mid-March and was expected to need 4-to-6 weeks to recover. He's looked sharp at the dish in three games since returning to action, going 5-for-14 with one double, one RBI and two runs scored at Triple-A Sacramento.

  • Graham Pauley 3B | MIA

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Taking seat Monday

Pauley is not in the Marlins' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Monday.

Pauley will take a seat for Monday's series opener while Javier Sanoja mans the hot corner and bats eighth. Pauley has gone 5-for-10 with one home run and four RBI during his current four-game hitting streak.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Back in action Monday

Muncy (illness) will start at third base and bat sixth in Monday's contest against the Marlins.

Muncy was under the weather over the weekend, forcing an early exit from Saturday's game versus the Cubs. He did not play Sunday, though the Dodgers said he had been scheduled for a day off, anyway. Muncy is ready to go for the series opener versus the Marlins and will carry a robust 1.028 OPS into play Monday.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Giants' Matt Chapman: Scores in win

Chapman went 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Marlins. He was also hit by a pitch.

Chapman drew two walks for a second straight game and came around to score in the seventh inning. The veteran third baseman has reached base at least once in eight of his last nine games, slashing .313/.436/.344 with five runs scored, four RBI and a 15.4 percent walk rate in 39 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .283/.356/.377 with 15 runs scored, 12 RBI and one home run across 118 plate appearances in 28 games.

  • Giants' Rafael Devers: Records RBI double in win

Devers went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-3 win over Miami.

After going 0-for-11 with six strikeouts over his previous three games, Devers reached base twice Sunday. The veteran infielder hit an RBI double in the sixth inning before coming around to score the game-tying run, and he also drew a walk in the seventh. The 29-year-old has gotten off to a slow start this season, slashing .216/.256/.306 with 10 RBI, eight runs scored, two long balls and a 30.8 percent strikeout rate across 117 plate appearances in 28 games.
