Rays' Matt Duffy: Multi-hit effort in win
Duffy went 2-for-4 with a run in a win over the Tigers on Wednesday.
Duffy opened July mired in a 4-for-27 slump over his first seven games, but he's shown signs of heating up again over his last three contests. The infielder went 5-for-12 with two walks and two runs over the series against the Tigers, and he continues to sport career-best numbers in both batting average (.310) and on-base percentage (.364).

Rafael Devers 1B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Placed on DL
Devers landed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday due to shoulder inflammation, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
Devers was held out of Wednesday's tilt with Texas after being a little banged up, and the Red Sox have since decided to shut him down to allow him to return to health. With the All-Star break approaching, the 21-year-old third baseman shouldn't be forced to miss much time, as he'll be eligible for activation starting July 21 versus Detroit.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Indians' Jose Ramirez: Goes yard twice in win over Reds
Ramirez went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Wednesday's 19-4 rout of the Reds.
He did all his damage early, putting the first two runs of the game on the board with his first homer, then capping a massive nine-run third inning with his 27th home run of the season. With that, Ramirez tied Albert Belle's team record for homers before the All-Star break, and Ramirez will have four more games yet to pad his total further.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Royals' Mike Moustakas: Smacks two homers in loss
Moustakas went 3-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs and three runs scored in Wednesday's loss to the Twins.
Moustakas' first blast gave the Royals a two-run lead in the third inning, and then he later launched his second of the night and 19th of the year with Kansas City trailing by four in the ninth. Even after the three-hit day, the 28-year-old is hitting just .206 in July, but with 58 RBI on the season he's on track to top last year's career-high total of 85.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Hits two home runs
Bregman went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs and a walk in Tuesday's win over the A's.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson: Running with no symptoms
Donaldson (calf) resumed baseball activities Tuesday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.
He has begun a running progression with no symptoms, which is a good sign for someone recovering from a calf injury. Donaldson reportedly resumed hitting last week, so he may be nearing a rehab stint.

Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA
White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Battling hamstring injury
Madrigal has been battling a minor hamstring issue for the past three weeks, but could return to the AZL this weekend, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
He has only logged three plate appearances as a pro, and now we know why. The middle infielder from Oregon State is considered to be the best pure hitter from the 2018 draft class, and also has impact speed on the bases.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Returns from illness
Candelario (flu) is starting at third base and leading off Tuesday against the Rays, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
He missed Monday's game with the flu, but is back at the hot corner for the second game of the series with Tampa Bay. Candelario is hitting just .160/.273/.294 with a 29.5 percent strikeout rate since the start of June, so it may be best to take a wait-and-see approach before plugging him back in, despite the advantageous spot in the lineup.
