Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: May see time as leadoff hitter
LeMahieu could see some at-bats from the leadoff spot against right-handed pitching, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Brett Gardner has slotted into the leadoff role in 2019 with Aaron Hicks (back) on the shelf, although skipper Aaron Boone stated that "there could be some scenarios" in which LeMahieu bats leadoff against right-handers. Lemahieu has fared well against right-handed pitching so far this season and is hitting .394 with five RBI in 33 at-bats.

Devers went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Blue Jays.
Devers, who was hitting out of the six hole against a right-hander for a second straight game, bounced a ninth-inning single against a drawn-in infield with the bases loaded to give Boston's a walkoff win. The third baseman had been a regular as the third batter against right-handers but was dropped to sixth after a slow start (9-for-40, .225). He's responded with multi-hit games in each contest.

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Sitting out matinee game
Chapman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Chapman will be awarded his first day off of the season after submitting his second three-hit performance of the series in Wednesday's 10-3 victory. Chad Pinder will slide in at third base in Chapman's stead.

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Big night of production
Chapman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, three RBI and three runs scored Wednesday against the Orioles.
Chapman exploded for three extra-base hits, the highlights being an RBI double in the third inning and a two-run home run in the seventh. He's enjoyed the team's road trip in Baltimore as he now has six hits in 13 at-bats across the the three-game series. Chapman has gotten off to a hot start this season, hitting .305/.397/.576 through 68 plate appearances.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Injury thought to be minor
Manager AJ Hinch said the Astros believe Bregman is dealing with a "minor" hamstring injury, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Bregman tweaked his hamstring while running the bases Tuesday against the Yankees. While he's out of the lineup Wednesday as a result, the infielder underwent some testing with a team physician and the Astros were apparently encouraged by the results. With an off-day Thursday, Bregman will have a shot to rejoin the lineup Friday against the Mariners.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Not starting Wednesday
Bregman (hamstring) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Bregman tweaked his hamstring while running the bases late in Tuesday's contest. With a day off Thursday, he'll have a shot to return Friday against the Mariners. Yuli Gurriel slides over to third base in his absence, with Aledmys Diaz starting at first.

Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Resting for day game
Candelario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
With zero hits in 15 at-bats over his last five starts, Candelario has seen his season average drop below the Mendoza Line (.195). The Tigers won't pull the plug on Candelario in an everyday role at third base, but he'll get a mental break and avoid a tough matchup against Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer. Gordon Beckham will fill in for Candelario at the hot corner.

Rangers' Patrick Wisdom: Fills in at third
Wisdom started at third base and went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Arizona.
Wisdom got the start as Asdrubel Cabrera was given the day off after criss-crossing the country to be sworn in as an American citizen in Miami. Cabrera is expected to play Wednesday while Wisdom retreats to the bench. In addition to backup duty at third base, Wisdom will share first base with Logan Forsythe while Ronald Guzman (hamstring) is sidelined on the 10-day injured list.

Rays' Matt Duffy: Getting closer to baseball activities
Duffy (hamstring/back) has still not resumed any baseball activities but is getting closer to doing so, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
The oft-injured infielder is dealing with multiple injuries, and his possible return date is currently projected as early-to-mid May in a best-case scenario. The report from manager Kevin Cash that Duffy is getting closer to resuming baseball activities is encouraging, but he'll presumably still face a multi-week rehab process even when he reaches that benchmark.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Exits with hamstring injury
Bregman left Tuesday's game against the Yankees after tweaking his right hamstring, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
Bregman sustained the the injury running the bases and was removed during the eighth inning. The 25-year-old is likely to be out of the lineup for Wednesday's series finale so he can take advantage of the following off-day. Bregman hopes to be ready for Friday's game at Seattle.
