  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Rangers' Patrick Wisdom: Fourth straight start

Wisdom will start at first base and bat eighth Sunday against the Athletics.

With Rougned Odor (knee) recently joining Ronald Guzman (hamstring) on the shelf, the Rangers have sported a new-look left side of the infield. Wisdom will draw in for Guzman at first base in what marks his fourth consecutive start. The 27-year-old should have a fairly clear path to at-bats until at least one of the two injured players is activated.

  • Twins' Willians Astudillo: Sitting out Sunday

Astudillo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

After a hot start to the season, Astudillo was recently awarded three starts in a four-game stretch but managed only a pair of hits in 13 at-bats. The Twins won't overreact to that small sample of work, but Astudillo's questionable defense will be enough to confine him to a utility role for the time being. He shouldn't be counted on for more than a handful of starts per week, but that's still probably enough to make him a viable lineup option in leagues that keep two catchers active.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Leading off Sunday

Candelario will start at third base and serve as the Tigers' leadoff man in Sunday's game against the Twins.

Candelario had served as the Tigers' No. 2 hitter in the first two games of the series, but he'll move up a spot in the order with Josh Harrison (shoulder) sitting out. Harrison is available off the bench and is expected to be ready to rejoin the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates, so Candelario should shift down in the lineup in short order.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Seeing steady action

Urshela will start at third base and hit seventh Sunday against the White Sox, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Early season injuries to Miguel Andujar (shoulder) and Troy Tulowitzki (calf) have already created an everyday role for DJ LeMahieu, and it appears Urshela and Tyler Wade are battling for the other regular opening in the infield. Urshela will pick up his fifth start in seven games Sunday while the lefty-hitting Wade heads to the bench with southpaw Carlos Rodon on the hill for Chicago.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Hitless in return

Bregman went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 3-1 win over Seattle.

Bregman returned to the lineup after missing two games with a hamstring injury. He was back at third base and hitting third in the order as he normally does.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Has four-hit day

Madrigal went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI for High-A Winston-Salem in Saturday's game against Potomac.

Madrigal is getting on track after a slow start for the Dash. He's compiled three multi-hit efforts in the last four games, raising his season average to .310. Saturday's double was his first extra-base hit of the season.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Rejoins starting lineup

Bregman (hamstring) is starting at third base and batting third Saturday against the Mariners, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman was held out the past two games due to right hamstring soreness but is able to make his return to action Saturday. The 25-year-old is slashing .341/.440/.488 with one home run through 50 plate appearances and will look to stay hot versus Seattle starter Felix Hernandez.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Likely to return Saturday

Bregman (hamstring) is expected to return to the starting lineup Saturday against Seattle, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman tweaked his right hamstring during Tuesday's matchup, although the Astros are encouraged by his progress and are optimistic that he'll be back in the starting nine as early as Saturday. In the event that he is cleared for action, Yuli Gurriel figures to return to first base and Tyler White would revert back to a bench role.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Out of lineup

Bregman (hamstring) isn't in Friday's lineup against Seattle, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman was spotted doing some running in the outfield prior to the game, although the medical staff evidently doesn't feel ready to clear him for game action just yet. There's been no word on whether Bregman will be available to pinch hit Friday night.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Testing hamstring in pregame

Bregman (hamstring) did some running in the outfield with the team trainers prior to Friday's game against Seattle, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Astros still haven't revealed their lineup for Friday night, but if everything checks out, Bregman could be back in the starting nine for the series opener. Yuli Gurriel would likely draw the start at the hot corner if Bregman can't go.
