  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Yankees' Gio Urshela: Drives in three runs

Urshela went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, three RBI and a walk as the Yankees split Saturday's doubleheader against the Rays.

The 28-year-old started at third base in both games of the twin bill and was a productive part of the offense in both contests. Urshela has a .341/.423/.636 slash line with three homers, 10 runs, 13 RBI and one stolen base in 14 games.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Clubs third homer

Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI during Saturday's 3-1 win over the Astros.

Offense was at a premium for both sides Saturday, but Chapman came through as the run producer for the A's. The 27-year-old has a .230/.277/.443 slash line with three homers, eight runs and six RBI through 61 plate appearances.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Keeps hitting streak alive

Bregman went 1-for-6 with an RBI double in Friday's extra-inning loss against the Athletics.

Bregman pushed his hitting streak to seven games and his last four hits have all gone for extra bases. The slugger has slashed .265/.306/.559 with two homers, four doubles, five RBI and three runs scored in 34 at-bats during his current streak.

  • Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Busts out Friday

Candelario went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's 17-13 extra-innings win over the Pirates.

The RBI were his first of the season. Candelario began the season by digging an 0-for-17 hole with nine strikeouts, but he appears to be finding a groove -- Friday's outburst was his second multi-hit performance in the last three games.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Placed on injured list

Donaldson (calf) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Donaldson wasn't in the lineup for seven consecutive games while dealing with right calf tightness, so it's not entirely surprising to see him land on the injured list. The transaction is retroactive to Aug. 4, but it's unclear whether he'll be forced to spend more than the minimum amount of time on the shelf. The 34-year-old hit .182 with a home run, two RBI and seven strikeouts over his first seven games of the year. Ehire Adrianza and Marwin Gonzalez should see increased playing time in Donaldson's absence.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Patient at plate in win

Chapman went 0-for-2 with two walks and a run in a win over the Rangers on Thursday.

While Chapman's line isn't exactly going to send fantasy managers' pulses racing, it's at least another sign the slugging third baseman is slowly clawing his way out of his offensive doldrums. Chapman's season slash line sat at .188/.235/.375 following an 0-for-5 effort against the Mariners in the first game of the month Saturday, but he's subsequently hit safely in four of five contests with a home run, Thursday's pair of walks and four runs. Chapman still has plenty of room for improvement when it comes to making consistent contact, as he's whiffed seven times during that stretch and carries a career-high 34.5 percent strikeout rate through his first 55 plate appearances.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Tigers' Isaac Paredes: Returns from injured list

Paredes was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Friday but will remain at the Tigers' alternate training site.

A positive COVID-19 test cost Paredes most of summer camp, though he likely wouldn't have been a favorite for a roster spot even if healthy. He's yet to reach Triple-A but did record a solid .282/.368/.416 slash line in 127 games for Double-A Erie last year.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Still not starting

Donaldson (calf) remains on the bench for Friday's game against the Royals.

Donaldson could have been most of the way through a trip to the injured list by now, as his last appearance came last Friday against Cleveland. The fact that he was never placed on that list suggests his return could be imminent, though the Twins have given no indication of when exactly that will happen. Ehire Adrianza will start at the hot corner Friday.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Hopes for two-week absence

Madrigal hopes to be back on the field in two weeks after landing on the injured list with a separated left shoulder Wednesday, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

The White Sox originally stated that they hoped Madrigal would be back by the end of the month, but Madrigal's own timeline appears to be a bit more aggressive. Whether that's simply a case of the very common phenomenon of a player being optimistic about his own health or a meaningful change to his prognosis remains to be seen. Danny Mendick has started the last two games at second base in his absence.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Added to player pool

Henderson was added to the Orioles' 60-man player pool Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 19-year-old was selected 42nd overall by Baltimore in the 2019 draft, and he'll be able to continue his development at the alternate training site. Henderson appeared in 29 games at rookie ball last year and had a .259/.331/.370 slash line with one homer and two stolen bases.
