  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

White Sox's Nick Madrigal: Three more knocks in win

Madrigal went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and was caught stealing in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals.

Madrigal is fourth on the White Sox with 44 base hits, a figure that could increase if his BABIP would cooperate. He's posted a .303 BABIP (league average is .289) while the three teammates ahead of him -- Yoan Moncada (.400), Yermin Mercedes (.388) and Tim Anderson (.367) -- have been considerably luckier than the second baseman.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Swats solo shot

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

The third baseman offered the only resistance Houston could muster against Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw, taking the legendary left-hander deep to left field in the seventh inning. Bregman also singled in the ninth inning to notch his second two-hit game in his past three contests. On the season, he is slashing .319/.398/.481 with six homers and 25 RBI across 181 plate appearances.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Reaches base three times

Moncada went 2-for-4 with an RBI, run scored and a walk Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Moncada walked with the bases loaded in the second inning to continue a three-run rally in the frame. He now has three multi-hit games in his last 13 starts, during which time he is hitting .359 with with five RBI and six runs scored. Though Moncada has managed to maintain a .285 average across 193 plate appearances this season, he has slugged only .411 and posted a .127 ISO.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Moves to paternity list

LeMahieu was placed on the paternity list Tuesday.

The 32-year-old was already absent from Tuesday's lineup due to the birth of his child, so the move to the paternity list is hardly a surprise. LeMahieu can spend up to three games on the paternity list, but he could also rejoin the team earlier.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Athletics' Matt Chapman: Day off Tuesday

Chapman is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mariners.

Chapman is 1-for-20 over his past six games and will take a seat Tuesday for the second time this season. Chad Pinder will step in at third base for the Athletics.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Thriving early with opportunity

Walls drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk, drew another base on balls and scored two runs over six plate appearances in an extra-innings win over the Blue Jays on Monday. He's reached safely in all three of his games since being summoned from Triple-A Durham on Saturday.

The rookie also struck out three times Monday, a reminder that he still has a ways to go before mastering big-league arms. Nevertheless, there's no question he's impressed early, lacing a pair of doubles and scoring three runs in the course of drawing three straight starts at shortstop.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Absent for birth of child

LeMahieu's absence from the lineup for Tuesday's game against Toronto is due to the birth of his child, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

The news explains why LeMahieu finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games. The Yankees have yet to officially place him on the injured list, but such a move could be coming soon.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Not in Tuesday's lineup

LeMahieu is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Toronto.

LeMahieu finds himself sitting for the second time in three games, which suggests he could be dealing with an unreported minor injury. Rougned Odor will be the second baseman Tuesday.

  • Blue Jays' Jordan Groshans: Dealing with sore back

Groshans hasn't played at Double-A New Hampshire since May 18 due to mild lower-back soreness, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Blue Jays don't appear to be overly concerned about the injury and believe that with some extra rest, Groshans will be able to avoid an extended absence. The 21-year-old dabbled at both shortstop and third base through his first 11 games with New Hampshire, batting .244 with no home runs and no stolen bases while striking out 13 times in 48 plate appearances (27.1 percent).

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Finding success early at Low-A

Henderson is slashing .339/.417/.661 with five home runs and three stolen bases across 72 plate appearances in his first 15 games with Low-A Delmarva.

Henderson and one of the Orioles' other top middle-infield prospects in Jordan Westburg (1.157 OPS in 15 games) have both hit the ground running at Low-A after the two missed out on a year of development time due to the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season. An early summer promotion to High-A Frederick should be in the cards for Henderson if he can continue to find success at the dish while keeping his strikeout rate (23.6 percent) in check.
