  • Ernie Clement SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: In lineup Friday

Clement (lower body) is batting fifth and playing third base Friday against Philadelphia.

Manager John Schneider said Wednesday that Clement was dealing with a lower-body injury, and after a team off day Thursday, Clement is back in the starting nine. He has a hit in six of his last seven games, going 9-for-30 (.300) with three doubles and a home run during that stretch.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | BOS

Red Sox's Alex Bregman: Could skip rehab assignment

Bregman (quadriceps) said Friday he might skip a minor-league rehab assignment and is running at about 50 percent, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Bregman opted not to provide a target return date, but the third baseman appears to be making good progress in his recovery from a strained right quad. If Bregman foregoes a rehab assignment, he could fast-track his return. Still, he seems to be multiple weeks out.

  • Marcelo Mayer SS | BOS

Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Idle against lefty

Mayer is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Mayer will dodge a same-handed matchup against Ryan Yarbrough on Friday, as Abraham Toro fills in at third base and Romy Gonzalez plays first base. Mayer has been on the bench for each of Boston's last four games against lefties.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Astros' Isaac Paredes: Suffers left hamstring injury

Paredes was pulled from Thursday's game against the White Sox due to a left hamstring injury, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Paredes was running hard down the first base line in an attempt beat out a double play ball in the seventh inning. Manager Joe Espada didn't provide much additional information but shared that the club would know more Friday.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Astros' Isaac Paredes: Suffers apparent leg injury

Paredes exited Thursday's game against the White Sox after appearing to suffer a left leg injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Paredes was running hard down the line trying to beat out a double play in the seventh inning and was seen walking gingerly afterward. He was removed from the game in the top half of the eighth inning, though the severity of the issue is unclear. Mauricio Dubon took over at third base.

  • Zach McKinstry 3B | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Tallies two hits, steal in win

McKinstry went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Orioles. He also stole a base.

After a surprisingly strong first two months of the season at the plate, McKinstry has kept rolling in June. The utility player is now batting .343 this month with three stolen bases and six runs scored through 11 games. Despite being a bench option for much of his career, McKinstry is forcing the Tigers to put him in the lineup most days due to his strong offensive output.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

    Astros' Isaac Paredes: Three-hit game

Paredes went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the White Sox.

Paredes has had an interesting start to June. He has hit only .235 with a relatively elevated 25 percent strikeout rate, yet he also has three home runs, nine RBI and five runs scored across nine games. Overall, Paredes has arguably been Houston's most consistent hitter this season and is on pace to match the production of his 2022 campaign -- the best of his career.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Reaches 20 steals again

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 11-2 win over the Reds.

Ramirez got the Guardians on the board with a run-producing double in the first inning and then stole third base. It was the 20th steal of the season for Ramirez, his fifth straight season and eighth overall with at least 20 thefts. The remarkably consistent Ramirez, who's hit safely in 11 consecutive games, also extended an on-base streak to 40 contests with a slash of .370/.433/.591 during that stretch dating back to April 27.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Homers in back-to-back games

Westburg went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Tigers.

Westburg delivered the final blow in Baltimore's seven-run eighth inning, tucking a Beau Brieske fastball inside the left-field foul pole for his sixth homer of the year. Westburg has certainly hit the ground running since returning from a month-plus stint on the IL, homering in back-to-back games. Overall, the 26-year-old Westburg is slashing .232/.290/.465 with 14 runs scored and 10 RBI across 107 plate appearances this season.

  • Ramon Urias 2B | HOU

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Homer, stolen base in win

Urias went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-1 win over Detroit.

Urias opened the scoring Wednesday with a 380-foot shot off Casey Mize, his third homer of the year and first since April 26. The 31-year-old Urias has been Baltimore's primary option at third base for most of the year, though he's likely to lose some playing time (despite Wednesday's effort) following Jordan Westburg's return from the IL. Overall, Urias is slashing .278/.335/.377 with 21 RBI and 16 runs scored through 173 plate appearances this season.
