Astros' Alex Bregman: Could play Tuesday

Bregman was present at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday afternoon, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Working on modest hitting streak

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Yankees on Monday and has now hit safely in three straight games.

Suarez's .231 average continues to leave plenty to be desired, but he's carrying a respectable .745 OPS thanks in large part to a strong 11.9 percent walk rate and 36 extra-base hits overall. The veteran slugger is a good bit off his usual home-run pace, however, as he's averaging a round tripper every 27.3 plate appearances, as opposed to one every 18.5 trips to the batter's box in his final Reds season a year ago.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Twins' Gio Urshela: Walks it off in return

Urshela went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

In his first game back from paternity leave, Urshela celebrated the new addition to his family by taking Alex Lange deep in the 10th inning for his first career walkoff homer. The 30-year-old third baseman is slashing .268/.313/.431 on the season with 10 homers and 44 RBI through 87 games.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Continues raking Monday

Miranda went 2-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and a run in Monday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

Miranda came up clutch again late in Monday's contest, plating two runs on an eighth-inning base hit to give him 42 RBI through 232 plate appearances on the season. Dating back to May 20, Miranda has been one of the top hitters in baseball, as he's produced a .339/.381/.570 slash line while striking out at an 18.8 percent clip over that 51-game stretch.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Expected back Tuesday

Devers (hamstring) is expected to return to action Tuesday against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Devers landed on the injured list in late July, and it appears he will not miss more than the minimum 10 days he was required to sit out.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Placed on paternity list

Bregman was placed on the paternity list Monday.

Bregman was scratched from Monday's lineup in order to be with his wife, and he wound up being excused from the team for the next 1-to-3 days. Taylor Jones was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land to take Bregman's place on the roster.

  • Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH

Orioles' Tyler Nevin: Not starting Monday

Nevin isn't in the lineup Monday against the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Nevin should see additional playing time for the Orioles after Trey Mancini was dealt to the Astros on Monday, but Nevin will take a seat for Monday's series opener in Texas. Ryan Mountcastle is starting at first base while Terrin Vavra enters the lineup in left field.

Astros' Alex Bregman: Scratched from Monday's lineup

Bregman was scratched from the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Bregman is not dealing with any sort of injury, but his wife went into labor with the couple's child, and he will leave the team for the time being to be with her. Aledmys Diaz will take Bregman's place at third base, and Chas McCormick will replace Diaz in left field.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Homers again Sunday

LeMahieu went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.

A day after swatting his 10th homer of the season, LeMahieu belted blast No. 11 off Zack Greinke in the fifth inning Sunday. This was the first time this season that the veteran infielder has gone deep in consecutive contests. LeMahieu enjoyed a productive July, slashing .344/.462/.490 with four homers, 11 RBI, two stolen bases and a 20:14 BB:K over 25 games.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Twins' Gio Urshela: Back from paternity leave

The Twins reinstated Urshela (personal) from the paternity list ahead of Monday's game against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Urshela spent the maximum three days away from the team while observing the birth of his child. Now that he's back with the Twins, the new father should settle back into a near-everyday role at third base as the team begins a seven-game week.
