Astros' Alex Bregman: Reaches three times, homers

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Tuesday's 9-5 loss against the Orioles.

He entered Tuesday's game hitless in five of his last seven games, but Bregman delivered a solo home run off Kyle Gibson in the third inning for his 24th long ball of 2023. The homer officially pushed him past his 2022 total, marking the third baseman's most home runs since 2019.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Sitting with hamstring issue

Lewis (hamstring tightness) is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Reds.

It's no surprise that Lewis won't play in Wednesday's day game after exiting with trainers Tuesday night with what is currently being categorized as hamstring tightness. Fortunately, it seems he avoided re-injuring his right knee, which has been operated on twice. Lewis also spent time on the injured list this year with an oblique strain. Willi Castro is starting at third base and batting fifth. Minnesota has an off day Thursday prior to a weekend series at home against the Angels.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Dealing with hamstring tightness

Lewis was removed from Tuesday's game against the Reds due to left hamstring tightness, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Lewis initially stayed in the game after tweaking his hamstring in the sixth inning, but he had to leave after further injuring himself during the eighth frame. Luckily, he's officially listed as day-to-day, so it appears Lewis avoided a significant injury. He could potentially miss a few games to recover before returning to Minnesota's lineup.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Exits with injury

Lewis was removed from Tuesday's game against the Reds after suffering an apparent injury, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Lewis appeared to tweak something in his leg during the sixth inning, but he was taken out of the game after grimacing following a swing in the eighth. The Twins will take a look at him and should provide more information following Tuesday's game, but fantasy managers should view Lewis as day-to-day for now.

  • Zach McKinstry 3B | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Resting versus lefty

McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.

With left-hander Caleb Ferguson starting on the mound for the Dodgers, the left-handed bat of McKinstry will stay put in Detroit's dugout to begin Tuesday's contest. Andy Ibanez will instead start at second base and bat second.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

    Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Sitting Tuesday

Diaz isn't in the Athletics' lineup Tuesday against the Mariners.

Diaz will get a breather Tuesday after breaking an 0-for-14 stretch at the plate in Monday's series opener. Aledmys Diaz will instead get the nod at the hot corner and bat fifth.

  • Angels' Eduardo Escobar: Not starting Tuesday

Escobar is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Tampa Bay, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Escobar has operated as the Halos' primary third baseman over the past couple weeks but will sit Tuesday while in the midst of a 1-for-15 slump. David Fletcher will take over at the hot corner and bat ninth.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: On base four times in win

Suarez went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and two walks in a win over the Athletics on Monday.

Suarez came through with what is already his fourth multi-hit effort in 12 September games while pushing his season OBP back up to a respectable .325 with the four trips to the basepaths. The veteran's ninth-inning knock also produced his 89th RBI of the season, his highest tally in that category since a 2019 campaign with the Reds when he compiled 103, the second-highest figure of his career.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Three hits, three runs in win

Henderson went 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored in Monday's 8-7 win over the Astros.

Three was Henderson's lucky number Monday, as he logged his fourth three-hit effort of September. His solid hitting atop the lineup paid off each time as the Orioles brought him home three times in a back-and-forth contest. Henderson is batting .313 with a .958 OPS in September, and he's up to a .261/.329/.503 slash line with 27 home runs, 79 RBI, 94 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 26 doubles and nine triples over 139 contests this season.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Logs hit in return

Jung started at third base and went 1-for-4 in Monday's 4-2 loss to Boston.

Earlier Monday, Jung was activated from the injured list, where he spent six weeks due to a thumb injury. There was no easing him back into the lineup as a designated hitter, as the rookie took his usual position at the hot corner.
