Kiner-Falefa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Kiner-Falefa will head to the bench Wednesday after reaching base four times while making a pair of starts at third base in the first two games of the series. Ernie Clement will spell Kiner-Falefa at the hot corner.

Toro is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

After he had started at designated hitter or third base in 14 consecutive contests, Toro has now hit the bench for the second day in a row. Tyler Nevin will draw another start at the hot corner and may have supplanted Toro as manager Mark Kotsay's preferred option at the position while the Athletics wait for J.D. Davis (adductor) to return from the injured list.

Arias is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Arias made six consecutive starts from April 13 through 18, but he's now been back on the bench three times in the Guardians' ensuing five games. Though Arias is maintaining a respectable .781 OPS over 48 plate appearances on the season, he looks like he'll have to settle for a part-time role for now while Cleveland continues to stick with Brayan Rocchio as its primary shortstop.

Davis (thigh/groin) resumed running Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

Davis began walking on a treadmill Friday, just five days after suffering his groin strain against the Nationals. With Tuesday's ramp-up in activity, Davis is another step closer to a return, but he doesn't figure to be deemed ready for activation when first eligible Thursday.

Devers (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Wednesday's contest in Cleveland, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Devers hasn't played since April 17 due to a bone bruise on his left knee, and between that injury and a shoulder problem, he's seen action in just three of the last 12 games. However, he's feeling well enough to give it a go Wednesday, albeit in a non-defensive role. Devers should be ready to play third base soon.

The Tigers announced that Kreidler underwent surgery April 11 to address a fractured right index finger, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Kreidler has been taking part in daily rehab since getting surgery but is without a clear timeline to return to action for Triple-A Toledo. The 26-year-old infielder possesses a spot on the Tigers' 40-man roster but will remain on Toledo's injured list for the time being.

Paredes went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Tigers.

He supplied the Rays' only offense by taking Alex Faedo deep in the sixth inning. Paredes is having a strong start to the season, slashing .274/.361/.512 through 23 games with six homers and 16 RBI, but he'll need to keep producing to hang on to his starting job at third base with top prospect Junior Caminero lurking at Triple-A.

Dalbec started at first base and went 0-for-2 in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Cleveland.

The day after Boston learned it would be without primary first baseman Triston Casas (fractured rib) for a significant stretch of time, Dalbec replaced him at first base. Unfortunately, Dalbec's season-opening struggles continued. He's now 1-for-32 (.031) with 18 strikeouts. Red Sox manager Alex Cora told Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe that Dalbec is expected to serve as the primary replacement for Casas, but Dalbec's leash could shorten quickly if he fails to get going at the plate in the near future.

Peraza (shoulder) has been hitting at the Yankees' complex in Tampa while continuing to progress through his throwing program, but manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that the infielder remains weeks away from playing in minor-league games, per MLB.com.

Peraza's shoulder issue first cropped up Feb. 25 and was followed by renewed soreness after he attempted to return to Grapefruit League play March 5. He has been throwing regularly since the first week of April, so the team appears to be giving the 23-year-old ample time to fully recover. Peraza is one of three Yankees third basemen currently on the injured list, as DJ LeMahieu (foot) was pulled early from a minor-league rehab start Tuesday while Jon Berti (groin) has yet to begin a rehab assignment.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

Ramirez's bat is coming around -- he's hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 8-for-32 (.250) with two homers and nine RBI in that span. For the season, he's slashing .240/.253/.427 with four homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored, a stolen base, four doubles and a triple through 22 games. Ramirez remains firmly in the heart of the order and continues to be regularly involved in run production, even with his lackluster on-base numbers so far.
