Mendick is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Though he started at second base in Tuesday's 7-6 loss while the lefty-hitting Nicky Lopez was out of the lineup versus Cubs southpaw Shota Imanaga, Mendick finds himself on the bench for the second matchup in a row with a right-hander. Mendick looked as though he could get a look in an everyday role at third base after Bryan Ramos was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte last week, but Lenyn Sosa appears to have since settled in as the primary option at the hot corner.

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians.

Garcia is making excellent contact lately with multiple hits in nine of his last 16 games. He's gone hitless just three times in that span. It took a while for the third baseman to get into a rhythm at the plate, but the Royals stuck with him atop the lineup due to his speed. Garcia is slashing .267/.316/.398 with five home runs, 14 steals, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles and three triples through 60 contests.

Bregman has been scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to lingering left hand soreness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Bregman was hit on the hand by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Cardinals. X-rays came back clean, but with the hand not feeling 100 percent the team will play it safe. Bregman is expected to be back in the lineup Friday versus the Angels after Thursday's scheduled off day. Jake Meyers will enter Wednesday's lineup in center field, with Mauricio Dubon shifting to third base to cover for Bregman.

Bregman (hand) will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Bregman was struck on the left hand by a pitch in Tuesday's 8-5 win. He was able to remain in the game and is back in the lineup a day later after X-rays came back negative. Bregman has hit five home runs in his last eight games.

Rojas went 3-for-5 with an RBI infield single, a double and a run in a win over the Athletics on Tuesday.

Rojas brought home Dylan Moore with his fourth-inning knock to extend the Mariners' lead to 4-1 at the time, marking only his second RBI in the last 15 games. In contrast, the two-bagger was Rojas' fifth during that same stretch, although those are his only extra-base hits dating back to May 5. Despite the overall lack of pop recently, Rojas is still one of the Mariners' more consistent bats with a .288 average and .781 OPS across 177 plate appearances.

Lewis went 1-for-1 with a home run and two walks in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

He got the start at third base in just his second game of the season after being injured Opening Day and missing nearly 10 weeks due to a strained right quad. Lewis is remarkably 3-for-3 with two home runs in those two games. It was a good sign for his health that he played defense as opposed to being eased into action at DH, but Lewis figures to get a day or two off over the next week as he gets back up to full speed.

Paredes went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Marlins.

Paredes delivered a two-RBI single in the fifth inning and came around to score in the same frame. He extended his hitting streak to six games with the performance, driving in five and scoring four runs in that span.

Sosa went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs.

Sosa was able to check off his first multi-hit game and his first homer of the season in the same contest. He's gone 4-for-10 with a walk and two strikeouts over four games since he was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. Sosa is slashing .188/.235/.292 with three RBI, three runs scored and two doubles over 52 plate appearances in the majors this season. He's started three straight games at third base and will likely need to outplay only Danny Mendick to stick at the hot corner in the near term.

X-rays on Bregman's left hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Cardinals, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Bregman took a 93-mph sinker off his hand during the first inning of Tuesday's contest, but he was able to shake it off and remain in the game, going 1-for-3 with three runs scored. Precautionary X-rays confirmed the All-Star third baseman isn't dealing with any serious damage, but there is still a chance he sits out Wednesday's series finale in order to avoid playing with any lingering hand soreness.

McKinstry went 2-for-4 with a triple and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

McKinstry launched his first home run of the season in the second inning, then followed with his second triple of the year in the fourth. While Javier Baez is still the team's primary option at shortstop, McKinstry has managed to carve out a sizeable role amid Baez's struggles at the plate. McKinstry is probably best suited as a utility player, however, so he likely will continue to move around the field rather than replace Baez altogether.
