  • Davis Wendzel 3B | PIT

Rangers' Davis Wendzel: Makes MLB debut

Wendzel started at third base and went 0-for-3 in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Oakland.

Wendzel, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, made his major-league debut. The 27-year-old third baseman takes over for the injured Justin Foscue (oblique) and will be part of the solution at the hot corner while Josh Jung (wrist) is unavailable. Normally, Josh Smith or Ezequiel Duran would start at third, but those two were filling in for resting regulars elsewhere.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Suffers adductor strain

Moncada was removed from Tuesday's game against the Guardians with a left adductor strain.

Moncada suffered the injury running out a grounder during the second inning and appeared to be in significant pain before being helped off the field. The 28-year-old was reported to be playing through minor groin/hip soreness of late, which seems likely to be the cause of Tuesday's injury.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Playing through hip/groin issue

Moncada has been playing through some minor hip/groin soreness in recent days, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

It's worrisome, given that Moncada has dealt with chronic issues to his lower half over the last two seasons. For now, though, it appears he'll continue to play through it, and he's off to a solid start that includes a .270/.357/.405 slash line over his first 10 games.

  • Ryan Kreidler 3B | MIN

Tigers' Ryan Kreidler: Diagnosed with fractured finger

Kreidler has been diagnosed with a fractured right index finger, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Kreidler had already been placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Toledo and subsequent testing has revealed the fracture. He's still being evaluated, so it's not clear how long he might be out, but certainly he won't be an option for the Tigers for quite a while.

  • Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: First stolen base of 2024

Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with a run batted in and a steal during Monday's win over the Mariners.

Kiner-Falefa picked up his second multi-hit game of the new season and plated Daulton Varsho in the eighth on a single for his first RBI of 2024. Through 10 appearances, Kiner-Falefa is slashing .250/.344/.286.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: First multi-hit game

Bregman went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI on Monday against the Rangers.

Bregman has gotten off to a slow start to the season, as Monday's performance marked his first multi-hit effort. He also has just two RBI and one run scored across 11 games. While it's been a frustrating opening to the new campaign, Bregman is still striking out just 15.6 percent of the time and should see the rest of his numbers normalize over time.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Getting back on track

Rendon went 3-for-5 with a double and three runs in Monday's 7-1 victory over the Rays.

Rendon got off to an 0-for-21 start to the season at the plate, but he's now working on a modest four-game hitting streak and has six hits over his past 18 at-bats. The veteran third baseman still hasn't homered or driven in a run, though he's knocked a double in consecutive contests. The Angels have stuck with Rendon as their leadoff hitter through his rough start, and he could get a chance to score a decent amount of runs if he continues to perk up at the plate with Mike Trout batting two slots behind him.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Smacks second homer

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Monday's 4-0 win over the White Sox.

Ramirez took a fifth-inning Bryan Shaw slider over the right-field wall to provide the Guardians with their winning margin. It was the second homer for Ramirez who had gone 43 at-bats since hitting his first home run during the second game of the season. Despite the relatively slow start in the power department, Ramirez has maintained his typical run production, collecting his eighth and ninth RBI through the Guardians' first 10 games.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Moved to 60-day IL

Jung (wrist) was placed on the 60-day injured list Monday.

Jung is expected to miss the next 8-to-10 weeks while on the mend from a broken right wrist, so this move simply clears a spot on the 40-man roster while he rehabs. Jung could return to action by the end of May if all goes according to plan.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Won't be regular third baseman

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Monday that Miranda could play third base "maybe a couple times a week," Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Miranda is starting at third base Monday versus the Dodgers after being recalled earlier in the day, and there is an opening for playing time there while Royce Lewis (quad) is sidelined. However, the Twins see Miranda as mainly a first baseman and designated hitter at this point, and those positions are more difficult to crack right now. In other words, it sounds like he'll be a part-time player for the time being.
