Danny Mendick 3B | CHW
White Sox's Danny Mendick: First hit since return
Mendick went 1-for-3 with a double Sunday against the Yankees.
Mendick was activated from the injured list Friday and has since started all three games at third base while hitting in the bottom third of the order. He collected his first hit since returning with a double in the seventh frame. With Bryan Ramos (quadriceps) sidelined, Mendick should have a clear path to playing time in the short term.

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Serves as cleanup batter
Smith started at third base, batted cleanup and went 2-for-4 in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Angels.
Smith filled in as the cleanup hitter after Adolis Garcia was scratched with a forearm issue. He extended a hit streak to five games (7-for-20) but has cooled off overall in May (.630 OPS) after a strong April (.927). Despite the downturn, Smith still gets plenty of opportunities with Josh Jung (wrist) unavailable.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Rays' Isaac Paredes: Hits homer No. 9
Paredes went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
Paredes was the only source of offense for the Rays, delivering a two-run homer off Zach Pop in the top of the ninth inning. The third baseman has notched a hit in seven straight starts, batting 11-for-28 (.392) with six RBI during that stretch.

Berti went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run Sunday against the White Sox.
Berti's first homer of the season came off White Sox starter Chris Flexen with two outs and two men on in the fourth. It was the first extra-base hit of the season for Berti, who is now hitting .277 after entering the contest batting .250 through 44 at-bats.

Rafael Devers 3B | SF
Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Homers in fifth straight game
Devers went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs scored Sunday against the Cardinals.
Devers' sixth-inning blast gives him nine on the season and marked his fifth consecutive game with a home run, tying a Red Sox record in the process. After a slow start to the season, Devers has caught fire lately, hitting safely in 21 of his last 23 games while batting .337 with seven homers, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A
Peraza (shoulder) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
Peraza has been on the injured list since suffering a shoulder injury in February, but he began a rehab assignment May 7. Most recently, he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in his only contest with Triple-A, where he will now remain for the time being. The organization will likely allow the 23-year-old to find his footing with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before ultimately elevating him to the major-league roster down the road.

Royals' Maikel Garcia: Doubles twice, steals base
Garcia went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and a steal in Sunday's win over Oakland.

Oswaldo Cabrera LF | NYY
Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Out of lineup Sunday
Cabrera is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
The third-year major leaguer will begin the game from the dugout in the second straight game as the Yankees close out their series with Chicago. Jon Berti will get the start at third base and bat ninth in place of Cabrera.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Tigers' Gio Urshela: Tallies three hits in win
Urshela went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Urshela just returned from the injured list Thursday after missing about a month due to a hamstring injury, and these were his first hits since returning, pushing his season average up to a solid .290. The 32-year-old should continue to start most days at third base, though the team will likely find him regular off days to ensure he stays healthy. Matt Vierling is the top option to start at the hot corner when Urshela is on the bench.
