Twins INF/OF Eduardo Escobar records RBI double Thursday
Twins utility man Eduardo Escobar waited until his last at-bat to record his lone hit of Thursday's 8-4 win over the Red Sox. Escobar went 1 for 5 with an RBI double in the top of the ninth inning that gave the Twins some un-needed insurance.
Despite the two-bagger on Thursday, Escobar has been scuffling at the plate recently. After Thursday, Escboar has just two hits in his last six games.

Twins Eduardo Escobar goes yard in Game 1 of DH Wednesday
Twins utility man Eduardo Escobar went deep on Wednesday for his third home run of the season. Escobar took Alexi Ogando out of the park for a two-run shot in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough as the Red Sox took Game 1 of the doubleheader by a score of 6-3.
Escobar, who started at third base but moved to left field, homered for the first time since May 6. It was his only hit of the game, and he now has just six hits in 32 at-bats over his last 10 games.

Tigers bring up Josh Wilson, Daniel Fields from Triple-A Toledo
The Tigers purchased the contracts of infielder Josh Wilson and outfielder Daniel Fields from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.
Wilson posted a .291/.350/.362/.712 slash line in 37 games for Toledo. He also had nine doubles, 10 RBI and 15 runs.
Fields had a .271/.394/.486/.879 slash line in 48 games. He also had three home runs, seven triples, 15 doubles, 21 RBI and 33 runs.

Twins' Trevor Plouffe launches eighth homer Sunday
Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe went 2 for 4 with a two-run home run in his team's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Plouffe helped complete a comeback in the sixth inning, with his two-run shot evening the score at 4-4. The multihit performance was his fifth in his last seven games. Plouffe has hit .279/.352/.488 with eight home runs and 29 RBI in 172 at-bats.

Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson slugs 15th homer Sunday
Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson went 1 for 4 with a walk and a solo home run in his team's 6-5 loss to the Twins on Sunday.
After the Blue Jays lost a three-run lead in the sixth inning, Donaldson briefly put his team back on top with his homer in the top of the seventh. However, the Twins were able to score two runs in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead for good.
"I'll tell you what, he has been amazing," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said to MLB.com. "He's got that knack and that's why he's an elite player. That's not easy to do, consistently like he has been doing. Thank God we've got him."
Donaldson has homered six times in his last six games and now owns a .312/.372/.604 line with 15 home runs and 39 RBI in 202 at-bats.

Orioles' Manny Machado swats two homers Sunday
Orioles third baseman Manny Machado went 3 for 5 with two home runs and three RBI in his team's 9-5 loss to the Rays on Sunday.
Machado's first homer came with a man on base and his team down 7-2 in the seventh inning, and he followed it up with a solo shot in the ninth. The third baseman hadn't homered since May 11 and hadn't even driven in a run in his previous nine games before exploding offensively on Sunday. Machado has hit .270/.333/.470 with eight home runs, 22 RBI and seven stolen bases in 185 at-bats.

Josh Donaldson homers, drives in three for Blue Jays
Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson hit a three run home run to help lead Toronto to a win over Minnesota on Friday.
Donaldson went 2 for 5. The homer was his 14th of the year and brought him to 38 RBI. He's now homered in four straight games.

Orioles 3B Manny Machado ejected on Thursday vs. White Sox
Orioles third baseman Manny Machado was ejected in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox. In the bottom of the eighth, Machado was called out on a check-swing strike three, and proceeded to slam his bat on the ground in front of home plate umpire Tony Basner. Basner immediately ejected Machado.
"Manny just reacted to a checked swing," manager Buck Showalter said after the game, per MASNSports.com. "Wanted him to check and he didn't and reacted strong enough to get thrown out of the game. You all saw it."
It was Machado's third strikeout of the game, as he went 0 for 4 on the afternoon. Ryan Flaherty replaced him at third base in the ninth.

Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson hits another ninth-inning home run
Josh Donaldson did it again. For the second straight game, the Blue Jays third baseman blasted a ninth-inning home run off White Sox closer David Robertson. This time, the solo home run tied the game at three, but the White Sox would come back to win in the 10th inning.
"Cutter, just this one was a little bit up," Donaldson said of the pitch from Robertson that led to the game-tying homer, per MLB.com. "From my at-bat earlier, I hit a fly ball to right field that I thought I hit pretty well, and I figured I should try and pull it."
The home run, Donaldson's 13th of the season, was his only hit of the game. He now has eight hits over his last five games as his season average sits at .314.

Trevor Plouffe gets another two-hit game for Twins
Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe went 2 for 4, continuing his hot hitting in Tuesday's win over Boston.
Plouffe has hit in four straight, with multi-hit games in the last three. He drove in a run, his 26th. It's his fourth game with an RBI in the last five.
Plouffe added his ninth double of the season.
