Donaldson said he "felt good" on the bases in his return to the lineup Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

The stud third baseman took a break Tuesday after tweaking his calf on Sunday and served as designated hitter Wednesday. Toronto was rightfully trying to nip any aggravation of his spring issue in the bud, and it seems to have paid off. Watch how Donaldson performs when he returns to playing the field, but he looks to be OK.

Longoria went 0-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk during Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

Outside of going just 7-for-29 (.219 batting average), it's been a solid start for Longoria. The veteran has seven runs, two home runs and five RBI, but with an underwhelming supporting cast, he could have a tough time duplicating his 2016 numbers (81 runs, 36 home runs and 98 RBI with a .273/.318/.521 slash line). Still, Longoria is a set-and-forget option at the hot corner in the majority of leagues.

Robinson was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, MLB.com's TR Sullivan reports.

Robinson was hitless in his two at-bats this season, both of which came on April 5 against the Indians. In Triple-A last season, he slashed .257/.350/.480. The 24-year-old most likely isn't anything more than organizational depth at this point in his career.

Bregman is playing third base and batting sixth Wednesday against the Mariners.

Bregman is off to a shaky start through nine games, hitting just .212 (7-for-33) with one RBI, one run and one stolen base. He'll stay in the lineup, but manager A.J. Hinch will slide him down to sixth in the order while Josh Reddick jumps up to second, so we'll see how the youngster responds at the plate.

Davis is going to start seeing time in left field at Double-A Corpus Christi, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

With Alex Bregman likely blocking Davis' path to the majors as a third baseman for years to come, Davis will start to get opportunities in the outfield. He's only played third base since being drafted by the Astros, though he saw time as an outfielder at Cal State Fullerton. The 23-year-old will continue to see his majority of reps at the hot corner, though the Astros will be looking to familiarize him with the outfield should an opportunity arise there. He hit .268 with 23 homers and an .818 OPS through 485 at-bats at Double-A last season.

Chapman's MRI revealed no structural damage to his wrist, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports.

With his MRI coming back clean, Chapman will now begin a swing progression. MLB.com's Jane Lee also reports that the swelling has decreased while his range of motion improved. However, there is still no timetable for his return from the 7-day DL.

Valencia is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros, MyNorthwest.com's Shanon Drayer reports.

Valencia is off to a slow start in 2017, with only five hits in 35 at-bats and an OPS of .356. The 32-year-old has typically fared better against left-handers, so it doesn't help that the Mariners are facing right-hander Mike Fiers on Wednesday. Mike Freeman will start at first base and hit eighth in Valencia's place.

Donaldson (calf) is hitting third as the designated hitter Wednesday against the Brewers, Sportsnet's Mike Wilner reports.

He did not start Tuesday, but was used off the bench. The Blue Jays will opt to DH him for at least Wednesday's game in order to ease him back from the calf injury. Darwin Barney gets the start at the hot corner in his place, while Kendrys Morales stays in the lineup at first base.

Donaldson's current right calf issue is not the same ailment that he dealt with in spring training, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

"This is a completely different spot on my calf," Donaldson said. It's tough to say if this is good or bad news. On one hand, it's nice to know that Donaldson's preseason injury is not necessarily lingering. On the flip side, it's not pleasing to think that the third baseman has a new problem on his hands. Furthermore, whether the two calf injuries could be related somehow is unclear. Either way, nothing should make owners feel comfortable outside of seeing Donaldson on the field for an extended stretch of games. His status for Wednesday evening's matchup has yet to be determined, but the fact that the 31-year-old was used as a pinch hitter Tuesday is a positive sign that he's nearing a return.

Manager Scott Servais said Tuesday that he fully expects Segura (hamstring) to return after the minimum 10 days, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Segura injured his hamstring on a dive back into first base during Monday's game, which led to his placement on the DL, but the team is classifying his strain as "mild." Taylor Motter figures to take on the lion's share of the workload at shortstop over the next week or so, while Jarrod Dyson will get an opportunity to lead off in Segura's absence.
