Duffy (heel) is traveling with the team and continuing onfield work during the current road trip, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Duffy has been trending in the right direction lately, having resumed full batting practice and a running program last week. However, he's yet to run full speed or on the bases, so a mid-to-late May return remains the most optimistic prognosis at present.

Asche is not in the lineup Monday against the Royals.

As expected, Asche will hand over DH duties to Matt Davidson with lefty Jason Vargas toeing the rubber for the Royals on Monday. He could find himself on the bench for the third straight game with Kansas City scheduled to send out southpaw Danny Duffy on Tuesday.

Machado went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.

Slowly but surely, Machado is warming up after a miserable 7-for-44 (.159) start. The third baseman has put together a modest (yet encouraging) five-game hitting streak to bump his average above the Mendoza Line. Considering the All-Star is typically quick out of the gate, Machado's slow start to the 2017 campaign is a bit disconcerting. Still, he's got a few advantageous matchups on tap for this week against the Rays and Yankees, so look out for him to kick his season into high gear.

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a walk in Sunday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Rays.

Bregman's fourth-inning single extended his hitting streak to a modest five games. Since being dropped from the two-hole to sixth in the order, Bregman has hit .310 (9-for-29) with three doubles, three RBI and five walks over the last nine games.

Manager Scott Servais said Segura (hamstring) would rejoin the Mariners on Tuesday in Detroit, at which point he'd likely be activated from the disabled list, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Segura has played in rehab games the last two days with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, playing shortstop while going a combined 1-for-6 at the dish in those contests. He'll play in another game Sunday with Northwest Arkansas, and if his hamstring checks out fine during the contest, the Mariners would likely immediately insert him back into the lineup. Segura's return will likely result in utility man Taylor Motter seeing most of his time in the corner outfield.

Valencia is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

With the Mariners recalling Dan Vogelbach from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, it would seem that the struggling Valencia's role as the starting first baseman has been put on notice. According to Shannon Drayer of 710 AM ESPN Seattle, manager Scott Servais hinted that Vogelbach would likely be the club's primary option at first base moving forward, and the rookie's inclusion in the lineup Sunday would certainly indicate as much. Valencia, who is batting just .145 on the season, could still find his way into the lineup against left-handed pitching, but occupying the small side of a platoon wouldn't give him much usefulness outside of AL-only leagues.

Asche is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians.

Though the Indians will bring a right-hander in Danny Salazar to the hill for the third time in as many games this series, there won't be room in the White Sox lineup for the lefty-hitting Asche, as manager Rick Renteria wanted to use Melky Cabrera at DH to give the veteran a day out of the field. Cabrera should return to the outfield in Monday's series opener against the Royals, but with left-hander Jason Vargas scheduled to start that game for Kansas City, it's likely that Matt Davidson will handle the DH duties while Asche remains on the bench.

Longoria went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in Saturday's win over Houston.

It's been a solid start to the campaign for the veteran, as Longoria has nine runs, three home runs and 12 RBI with a .250/.337/.444 slash line. While it might be difficult to repeat his 2016 numbers, he's locked in as a worthy starter at the hot corner in the majority of fantasy settings. Longoria is 7-for-17 with four extra-base hits and six RBI in his last four games.

Chapman was activated from the disabled list Saturday.

The promising third baseman has been out with a wrist sprain for the better part of two weeks, but all seems to be normal after a clean MRI. Chapman will return to Triple-A Nashville, where he has started the season 0-for-7 with six strikeouts.

Plouffe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-1 win over the Mariners.

The veteran slugger got Oakland on the board and forged a 1-1 tie with a 400-foot shot to center off Hisashi Iwakuma, his second homer in as many nights. All four of Plouffe's round trippers have come within the last seven games and he's now reached safely in nine consecutive contests overall, boosting his average 68 points to .222 and his slugging nearly 300 points to .444 in the process. If Plouffe can produce a reasonable facsimile of his 2015 campaign in Minnesota -- one that saw him smack 22 homers and 86 RBI -- the A's will likely be very satisfied with their one-year investment.
