Twins' Jose Miranda: Set to be demoted
The Twins are planning to option Miranda to Triple-A St. Paul following Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Tigers, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Miranda has struggled to start the season, slashing .167/.167/.250 with one home run, five RBI and 13 strikeouts across 36 plate appearances. His baserunning blunder in the eighth frame of Saturday's game seemed to be the final straw for the club. Brooks Lee (back) is expected to be activated off the injured list to take Miranda's spot on the 26-man roster.

Dylan Moore 2B | TEX
Mariners' Dylan Moore: Idle Saturday
Moore isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.
Moore will step out of the lineup for a second consecutive game after going 0-for-7 with three strikeouts across his last two games. His absence will allow Leo Rivas to start at the keystone and bat eighth.

Gio Urshela 3B | ATH
Athletics' Gio Urshela: Riding pine Saturday
Urshela isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.
Urshela will take a seat Saturday after going 1-for-3 with a walk in Friday's series opener. Luis Urias will fill the opening at third base and bat seventh while Urshela rests.

Josh H. Smith SS | TEX
Rangers' Josh Smith: Moves to left field
Smith started in left field and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Mariners.
Smith, who had filled in at third base when Josh Jung was unavailable, moved to left field with Wyatt Langford (oblique) on the injured list. The versatile infielder/outfielder is 10-for-24 with three doubles, a home run, two RBI, three steals and seven runs scored over the last eight games. Kevin Pillar could see time in left field against southpaws, but Smith is expected to be the primary fill-in while Langford is out.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Keeps raking with two-run homer
Jung went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base Friday against the Mariners.
Jung connected for a game-tying two-run homer off Mariners right-hander Trent Thornton in the sixth inning that just snuck over the right-field wall. While Jung hasn't yet drawn a walk across 19 plate appearances, he's batting a scorching .474 with the aforementioned long ball, two doubles, one triple and six RBI through five games so far this season. The former top prospect should be rostered in the majority of mixed fantasy leagues.

Jorge Polanco 2B | SEA
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Stays hot with solo homer
Polanco went 3-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against Texas.
Polanco took Rangers right-hander Jacob deGrom deep for a 384-foot shot down the right-field line in the first inning. The switch-hitting Polanco is expected to remain solely a designated hitter while he manages side soreness, which is also preventing him from hitting right-handed, but the veteran infielder is certainly worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues at the moment. Through 31 at-bats so far this year, Polanco is batting a torrid .419 with three long balls, 11 RBI, three runs scored and one stolen base.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Goes yard in big win
Paredes went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two walks and a total of three runs scored in Friday's 14-3 win over the Angels.
This was Paredes' third multi-hit effort over the last five games. The homer, an eighth-inning solo shot, was his first as an Astro and just his second extra-base hit of the season. After a slow start, Paredes is batting .275 (14-for-51) with a .736 OPS, five RBI, six runs scored and no stolen bases over 60 plate appearances. He's made a home for himself in the No. 2 spot in the lineup and should rack up plenty of counting stats -- aside from steals -- in a strong offense.

Cam Smith 3B | HOU
Astros' Cam Smith: Hits first big-league homer
Smith went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, one walk and one stolen base in Friday's 14-3 win over the Angels.
Smith's starting to figure things out in the majors -- this was his second multi-hit effort in a row. He's also driven in five runs over his last three games, and he supplied some insurance runs with an eighth-inning homer Friday. The 22-year-old is batting .241 (7-for-29) with a 3:10 BB:K across his first nine major-league contests. He's getting a chance to play a starting role in right field after being acquired by the Astros in their trade with the Cubs that sent Kyle Tucker to Chicago in the offseason. Smith was drafted 14th overall in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft and has skipped Triple-A to begin 2025 in the majors after logging just 32 minor-league contests over three levels in the second half of last year.

Jose Miranda 3B | MIN
Twins' Jose Miranda: Not in lineup Friday
Miranda is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers.
Miranda has struggled out of the gates this season, slashing .143/.143/.229 with one home run, five RBI and two runs scored across 35 plate appearances. He has struck out 13 times and drawn zero walks. With Miranda taking a seat, Willi Castro is starting at third base while Edouard Julien mans second.

Jorge Polanco 2B | SEA
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Still not 100 percent
Polanco is expected to remain limited to DH duties for another week or two, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Additionally, the switch-hitting Polanco, who has been dealing with soreness in his side, doesn't appear to be quite ready to hit right-handed. "He still has a little bit of soreness when he swings right-handed," manager Dan Wilson said Wednesday. "He continues to get better and better, and we'll keep monitoring it." With Ryan Bliss (biceps) out until after the All-Star break and Polanco still not ready to play the field, the Mariners are pretty thin on the infield. When in the lineup, Polanco has swung a hot bat, slashing .370/.393/.593 with two home runs, 10 RBI, two runs and one stolen base across 29 plate appearances.
