  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Twins' Luis Arraez: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Arraez isn't starting Wednesday against the Royals.

Arraez is getting a breather after he went 3-for-13 with two RBI, a run and a strikeout over the last three games. Gary Sanchez will rest his legs as the designated hitter and bat cleanup.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Homers in nightcap

Marte started at DH and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a solo home run and a second run scored in a 5-2 win over the Dodgers in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Marte helped the Diamondbacks rebound from a gut-punch loss in the matinee. It was the 12th home run in 129 games for Marte, who went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the first game. That he played both ends of the doubleheader is encouraging, given all the issues Marte's had with hamstring injuries this season.

  • David Villar 1B | SF

Giants' David Villar: Clubs sixth homer

Villar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.

Villar's seventh-inning homer ended up giving the Giants all they needed to get the win. He hasn't hit consistently lately, going 8-for-33 (.242) across his last 10 games, but he's swatted two homers and four doubles in that span. The 25-year-old has shown solid power with a .444 slugging percentage through 139 plate appearances, but he's batting just .222 with six homers, 16 RBI, 17 runs scored and six doubles. Villar has been in the lineup for six straight games, seeing time at the corner infield spots as well as designated hitter, and it appears he's earned an everyday role.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Pair of steals in loss

Andrus went 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-7 extra-innings loss to the Guardians.

Andrus continues to swing a hot bat -- he has multiple hits in 14 of his last 22 contests, going 34-for-94 (.362) in that span. The shortstop has also run wild on the basepaths lately, recording seven steals in his last 10 games. He's up to 15 thefts in 19 tries this year. Andrus has added a steady .258/.315/.411 slash line with 14 home runs, 52 RBI, 62 runs scored and 31 doubles through 135 games between the White Sox and the Athletics.

  • Owen Miller 2B | CHC

Guardians' Owen Miller: Picks up second steal

Miller went 0-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-7 extra-innings win over the White Sox.

Miller had sat out each of the last two games after playing both halves of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Twins. His 10-game hitting streak ended Tuesday, but he was able to get aboard twice with his first multi-walk game since June 26. The infielder is up to a .246/.302/.350 slash line with two steals, five home runs, 48 RBI and 51 runs scored through 123 contests. Still, he's been more of a part-time player in September, with Tyler Freeman seeing more time as a utility infielder lately.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Nursing elbow injury

Estrada is dealing with tightness in his elbow after he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Rockies, and he could be held out of the lineup Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Estrada remained in the game after the hit-by-pitch and finished Tuesday's contest 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. The elbow issue doesn't appear to be a serious concern, though the 26-year-old may still receive a maintenance day Wednesday.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Bashes three-run homer

Kemp went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 4-1 win against Seattle on Tuesday.

Kemp got to Seattle starter Luis Castillo twice with a single in the third inning and go-ahead three-run home run in the fifth. The impressive performance continues a stellar September for the 30-year-old, who's slashing .321/.387/.571 with three long balls in 15 contests.

  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Stolen base, RBI in loss

Garcia went 1-for-5 with an RBI single and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to Atlanta.

Garcia went hitless in his first four at-bats before ripping an RBI single off Kenley Jansen in the top of the ninth and stealing second base. The swipe was his third of the season and first since Aug. 26. Garcia is the middle of a tough stretch at the plate, batting .185 with 14 strikeouts over 54 at-bats in his last 13 games.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Sitting for nightcap

Rojas isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Rojas will take a seat in Game 2 as the lefty Tyler Anderson will start for Los Angeles. Emmanuel Rivera will take over as the D-backs' third baseman and bat fifth.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: Takes seat Tuesday

Frazier is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the A's.

Frazier started the past seven games and will head to the bench after he posted a .523 OPS during that stretch. Dylan Moore will start at the keystone Tuesday as southpaw JP Sears takes the mound for Oakland.
