  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Goes yard Tuesday

Gorman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Cubs.

Gorman made an early impact with his first-inning solo shot off Jameson Taillon. Prior to Tuesday, Gorman had gone 3-for-16 (.188) across six games in May. The infielder is up to eight homers, 24 RBI, 11 runs scored and three stolen bases while slashing .255/.346/.518 through 33 contests. The Cardinals are primarily using Willson Contreras at designated hitter now, thrusting Gorman into a middle-infield battle for playing time with the likes of Tommy Edman, Paul DeJong and Brendan Donovan. Gorman should remain in the lineup against right-handed pitchers for the foreseeable future.

  • Rockies' Harold Castro: Taking over second base job

Castro went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk Tuesday against the Pirates.

Castro started at second base for the sixth time in the last nine games, sending Alan Trejo to the bench. He's hit well in that span by collecting eight hits in 20 at-bats while also tallying four RBI and four runs scored. Unless the Rockies opt to move Ryan McMahon back to second base, there aren't many obvious options to move Castro out of the lineup, so he could see regular at-bats moving forward.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Hitless in return

Bae went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Tuesday against the Rockies.

Bae returned from a three-game absence caused by an ankle injury Tuesday to start at second base. He's now hitless across his last 11 at-bats and has maintained only a .232 average for the season across 105 plate appearances. His playing time will be worth monitoring moving forward after the team demoted Mark Mathias to Triple-A Indianapolis Monday, potentially opening the door for Bae to play regularly at second base.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Posts steal Tuesday

Estrada went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Nationals.

Estrada extended his hitting streak to seven games, a span in which he's gone 10-for-28 (.357) with two home runs and two steals. The infielder has had an enticing mix of power, speed and contact hitting throughout the early portion of the 2023 season. He's up to 10 steals, six homers and a .338/.388/.522 slash line through 34 contests.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Left with hamstring discomfort

Dubon left Tuesday's game against the Angels with left hamstring discomfort, Greg Rajan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Dubon picked up the injury while reaching first base on a single. The infielder is considered day-to-day, but there's a decent chance he'll be out of the lineup for Wednesday's finale against the Angels with Houston having an off day Thursday.

  • Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Pops third home run

Vargas went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-2 victory over the Brewers.

Vargas teed off in the sixth inning and pushed the Dodgers' lead to 6-0. The second baseman lacked power in April, as he slugged .325 in the month. He's shown considerably more pop thus far in May, during which Vargas has two home runs and six extra-base hits in 29 at-bats.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Leaves with apparent injury

Dubon left Tuesday's game against the Angels with an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The infielder went 1-for-3 with a single before leaving in favor of pinch runner David Hensley. Dubon should be considered day-to-day.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Blasts three home runs

Diaz went 3-for-4 with three home runs and four total RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

Diaz quadrupled his season home run total Thursday, clubbing a pair of solo homers in the fourth and seventh innings before catching Greg Weissert for a two-run shot in the eighth. However, his efforts were for naught, as the Yankees offense hung 10 runs on the A's, while Oakland managed just one run outside of Diaz's four RBI. Considering Diaz has appeared in just 15 games and had just one multi-hit performance prior to Tuesday, he doesn't offer much value in season-long formats. However, if he remains hot at the plate, he could be an intriguing streaming option.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Guardians' Amed Rosario: Four hits in win

Rosario went 4-for-4 with an RBI triple in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

Rosario picked up three of Cleveland's five hits against Detroit starter Michael Lorenzen. Rosario would then add an RBI triple in the eighth inning, his third of the season, off Jose Cisnero to extend the Guardian's lead to 2-0. It was Rosario's first multi-hit performance since April 23 -- he'd gone 7-for-47 with a .345 OPS in that span. The 27-year-old shortstop is now slashing .242/.284/.339 with one homer and six stolen bases over 134 plate appearances.

  • Jake Alu LF | WAS

Nationals' Jake Alu: Batting ninth in debut

Alu is starting in left field and batting ninth in his MLB debut Tuesday against the Giants, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Alu was promoted Monday from Triple-A Rochester, where had slashed .247/.322/.377 with two home runs and three stolen bases through 21 games this season. The 26-year-old is a versatile defender but is unlikely to offer significant fantasy production.
