Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Not starting Sunday
Massey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.
Righty Alex Faedo is starting Sunday for Detroit, but the lefty-hitting Massey is on the bench since Faedo is serving as an opener for lefty Brant Hurter. Salvador Perez will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Freddy Fermin starts behind the plate.

Jared Triolo 3B | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: LIkely heading back to utility role
Triolo will start at third base and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Triolo will stay in the Pittsburgh lineup for the sixth time in seven games, but he'll likely occupy a utility role for the club moving forward after Isiah Kiner-Falefa (knee) returned from the injured list Saturday to make his Pirates debut. Kiner-Falefa is expected to serve as the Pirates' primary option at second base, where Triolo had previously made five consecutive starts before hitting the bench Saturday. Triolo will be back in the starting nine Sunday as the Pirates give regular third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes a breather.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Multi-hit effort in return
Polanco (knee) went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a run in an extra-inning win over the Phillies on Saturday.
The veteran infielder had sat out Friday's series opener due to his nagging knee issues, but Polanco was starting at second base Saturday and managed to deliver one of three multi-hit efforts for the Mariners. Polanco's .215/.297/.352 season slash line still has plenty of room for improvement; however, the 31-year-old now boasts a .292 average and 1.019 OPS across 54 post-All-Star-break plate appearances, and his .375 average with men in scoring position during that span has helped him produce 10 RBI.

Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Sitting for third time in four games
Brujan is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
On the bench for the third time in four games, Brujan looks to have moved into a utility role after he had previously handled a near-everyday role for most of July. Brujan's downturn in playing time comes while he's gone 2-for-16 with a 3:3 BB:K over his last seven contests.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against lefty
Turang is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
The lefty-hitting Turang started in Saturday's 6-4 loss while southpaw DJ Herz took the hill for the Nationals, but Turang will find himself on the bench for the series finale in a matchup against Washington southpaw Mitchell Parker. Andruw Monasterio will step in for Turang at second base.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Goes deep in victory
India went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a 6-4 win against the Giants on Saturday.
India hit one of four long balls off Kyle Harrison in the contest, going deep for a solo shot to left field in the third inning. The homer was his first over his past 15 games, and it was just his third RBI during that stretch. India is at nine home runs through 102 contests on the campaign after going deep 17 times in 119 games last year.

Brooks Baldwin SS | CHW
White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: Swats first career homer
Baldwin went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Twins.
Baldwin temporarily tied the score at 2-2 in the sixth inning with a solo shot off Bailey Ober. The long ball was his first as a major leaguer in his 14th career game. Baldwin shouldn't be expected to hit for much power -- he went deep a modest eight times in 82 games in the minors this season prior to his mid-July call-up -- but he batted .324 and swiped 17 bases during that span, so there's certainly potential for him to be a useful fantasy producer. However, he's struggled against major-league pitchers thus far with a .167/.200/.313 slash line through 50 plate appearances.
-
Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Tallies three hits, two RBI
Lowe went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Astros.
Lowe has four multi-hit efforts over his last eight games, going 13-for-29 (.448) with a home run, five doubles and seven RBI in that span. The infielder hit .325 in July and is continuing his strong play into August. For the season, he's up to a .264/.353/.510 slash line with 12 homers, 37 RBI, 32 runs scored and two stolen bases over 238 plate appearances.
-
Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Fills stat sheet in win
Garcia went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, three runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.
Garcia doubled and scored in the first inning and hit a solo home run in the third. He then singled, stole second and scored again in the fifth. The second baseman slashed .333/.375/.573 in July and has opened August with two three-hit efforts, a homer and two steals. On the year, he is hitting .287 with 12 long balls and 17 stolen bases across 365 plate appearances.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Two hits, stolen base in loss
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Cardinals.
Hoerner singled and scored in the second inning and then singled and stole second in the fourth. The 27-year-old has been moved from leadoff to sixth in the batting order but is enjoying a modest seven-game hit streak that has included five steals. On the year, he is hitting .257 with four home runs, 34 RBI, 55 runs scored and 19 stolen bases across 448 plate appearances.
