  • Ronny Simon 2B | PIT

Marlins' Ronny Simon: Contract selected by Miami

The Marlins selected Simon's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

The 25-year-old will take the roster spot of Griffin Conine, who was placed on the injured list Sunday with a dislocated shoulder. Simon has a .962 OPS through 15 games with Jacksonville this year and will be making his MLB debut when he gets into a game.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Knocks in two

Lowe went 1-for-5 with two RBI on Saturday against the Yankees.

Lowe has struggled for the last two weeks, recording only eight hits across 45 at-bats with no multi-hit performances. He has still managed to record seven RBI in that span and is striking out only 21.3 percent of the time, suggesting his results should improve.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Twins' Willi Castro: Sitting again Sunday

Castro (oblique) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

It's the fourth consecutive absence for Castro since tightness in his right oblique surfaced Wednesday against the Mets. There's been no indication to this point as to whether the 27-year-old will require a trip to the injured list. Brooks Lee will start at third base Sunday for the third time since Castro suffered the injury.

  • Tim Tawa LF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Homers in loss

Tawa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Cubs.

Arizona's bats were mostly quiet on the day. Tawa's homer in the ninth inning, his second of the season, was one of only four hits for the team -- Corbin Carroll had the other three. Tawa has reached base safely in six of seven starts and is slashing .217/.321/.522 over nine outings since being called up to help fill in for the injured Ketel Marte (hamstring) at second base.

  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Perfect at the plate in win

Garcia went 2-for-2 with three walks, four runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 12-11 win over the Rockies.

Garcia was a pest all game, scoring four runs and swiping his third bag of the season. It was an encouraging effort for the 24-year-old, who is slashing just .206/.271/.302 with one home run, five RBI, 10 runs scored and three steals across 70 plate appearances this season. While his slow start and tendency to sit against lefties have been discouraging, a solid 6:8 BB:K suggests he can turn things around.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Three hits against M's

Gimenez went 3-for-6 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-4 extra-innings loss to the Mariners.

The second baseman snapped an 0-for-15 skid with his first three-hit performance of the season. The slump cut into Gimenez's rate stats, but he's still offered plenty of fantasy value -- through his first 21 games as a Blue Jay he's slashing .215/.300/.380 with three homers, seven steals, eight RBI and 14 runs.

  • Astros' Brendan Rodgers: Sitting down Saturday

Rodgers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Rodgers' base hit in Friday's contest snapped what had been an 0-for-12 stretch at the plate, and he'll now get to rest against Michael King and the Padres. Jose Altuve will shift to second base as a result, moving Yordan Alvarez into left field while Yainer Diaz serves as the DH.

  • Willi Castro 2B | COL

Twins' Willi Castro: Still sidelined Saturday

Castro (oblique) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

Castro will officially miss a second consecutive game after leaving Wednesday's game early due to right oblique tightness. Luke Keaschall will start at second base with Jonah Bride at third.

  • Brooks Baldwin SS | CHW

White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: Taking seat Saturday

Baldwin isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Boston.

Baldwin has gone 6-for-20 with a homer, four RBI and two runs scored over his last six games. The White Sox will give him a break Saturday while Michael Taylor starts in right field, batting eighth.

  • Gabriel Arias 3B | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Taking seat Saturday

Arias isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Arias will get a chance to rest Saturday after going 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored during Friday's series opener. While he sits, Daniel Schneemann will take over at the keystone and bat eighth.
