Barreto is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Adam Rosales will receive the nod at shortstop in the series finale, but Barreto, the Athletics' top prospect, still looks like the primary option at the position until either Marcus Semien (wrist) or Chad Pinder (hamstring) is cleared to return. After opening his MLB career with back-to-back two-hit performances, Barreto has mustered only one hit in his last 16 at-bats.

Forsythe is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Forsythe has collected eight hits in his previous two starts, but he'll head to the bench in favor of Chase Utley. The 30-year-old has incredibly raised his average 39 points over his previous two monster games, putting him at a .247/.363/.329 slash line on the year.

Arroyo, who exited Saturday's game with Triple-A Sacramento after being hit by a pitch, has been diagnosed with a broken left hand, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Manager Bruce Bochy reported Sunday that Arroyo will likely be sidelined until at least September with the fractured hand. The 22-year-old has had plenty of success at Triple-A this season, posting an incredible .400/.465/.611 slash line over 101 plate appearances, but struggled in his 34-game stint with the Giants earlier this year, as he hit just .192 over 135 plate appearances.

Arroyo exited Saturday's contest with Triple-A Sacramento after he was hit in the hand by a pitch.

Arroyo was activated from the 7-day disabled list earlier in the day after missing more than two weeks with a wrist injury, but he was forced to make an early exit in the fifth inning. The 22-year-old phenom is hitting .404/.459/.618 in Triple-A this season and will likely receive further evaluations over the next couple days to determine the extent of the injury. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Espinosa is not in Saturday's lineup against the Mariners, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Espinosa will take a seat on the bench after starting the past three games and going 0-for-10 with four strikeouts in the process. He will be replaced at second base by Nick Franklin, who was recently called up from Triple-A Salt Lake after coming over from Milwaukee.

Franklin was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake and is starting Saturday's game against the Mariners at second base, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. He is batting ninth.

Franklin is with the Angels just a day after being acquired via trade from the Brewers. He slashed just .195/.258/.317 with two homers in 53 games with Milwaukee, but he could be in line for some playing time at the keystone given Danny Espinosa's struggles at the dish (.166/.244/.286 in 71 games).

Forsythe reached base five times Friday, going 4-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored in a win over the Padres.

After struggling in his first 20 games back from injury, Forsythe is batting .326 with 13 runs and a .412 on-base percentage over his previous 11 contests. The 30-year-old has just two home runs this season, but that number should increase if he continues to take good at-bats.

Andrus went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBI against the White Sox on Saturday.

Andrus launched his 11th home run of the season off Derek Holland to break up a 2-2 tie in a road victory. He's slashing .301/.349/.473, a nice improvement over the breakout numbers he posted in 2016.

It appears Arroyo is past the wrist injury that has kept him out since June 15. The 22-year-old will head back to Sacramento, where he is slashing .404/.459/.618 with four homers in 23 games. With the Giants still searching for answers, Arroyo could eventually return to the big club if he continues to dominate at Triple-A.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

He'll head to the bench with the Pirates facing left-hander Matt Moore for the second game of Pittsburgh's series against San Francisco. Josh Harrison will take over leadoff duties and Jose Osuna will get the start out in left field. Look for Frazier to draw back in Sunday against Jeff Samardzija.
