Mendick started at second base and went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Monday's 5-1 loss to Detroit.

Mendick's started seven straight and eight of the last nine games while the White Sox covered for the loss of shortstop Tim Anderson (groin) and second baseman Nick Madrigal (shoulder). Mendick and Leury Garcia, who sustained a hand injury and left Monday's game, have been manning the middle infield. Mendick's performed well during this run, going 10-for-27 with three runs and two extra-base hits in his eight starts. However, his presence could end soon; Anderson is expected back Tuesday. Mendick's playing time will depend on how Garcia, who opened the season as the team's starter at second base, checks out in his medical evaluation.

Marte went 4-for-6 with a double, one RBI and three runs scored in a 12-8 win over Colorado on Monday.

Marte scored three runs in the first four innings and later drove in an insurance run in the ninth. The 26-year-old switch-hitter has just four RBI this season but owns a .333/.347/.449 slash line.

Kemp isn't starting Monday's game against the Angels.

Kemp will sit for the third time in the past five games after going 0-for-3 with a run, one walk and two strikeouts Sunday. Chad Pinder will start at second base and bat eighth.

Hernandez is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Padres, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Hernandez has handled his usual heavy part-time role this season, starting 11 of the team's first 17 games. He's managed a modest .688 OPS through 52 plate appearances, however, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see his opportunities dwindle slightly going forward. Max Muncy will slide to second base Monday, with Edwin Rios starting at first.

Urias will bat seventh and play second base in his season debut Monday against Minnesota.

It will take more than one game to figure out just how frequently Urias will be in the lineup for his new team, but the fact that he's starting immediately upon being activated from the COVID-19 injured list is undoubtedly a good sign. He'll push regular second baseman Keston Hiura to the designated hitter spot, an arrangement the Brewers could potentially use quite frequently until Ryan Braun (finger) returns from the injured list.

Urias (illness) was activated from the injured list Monday.

Urias is finally ready for his Brewers debut after a positive COVID-19 test wiped out his entire summer camp and sent him to the injured list to open the season. While the 23-year-old likely has more talent than any Brewers infielder not named Keston Hiura, there's no guarantee he handles a heavy workload right away. Despite his prospect pedigree, he failed to distinguish himself in 83 games for the Padres over the last two seasons, hitting .221/.318/.331 with just six homers and one steal.

The Yankees optioned Estrada to their alternate training site Monday.

Estrada has now been optioned to the Yankees' alternate site for the third time in five days. The 24-year-old utility man likely won't be in line for a long-term stay on the active roster in 2020 unless the Yankees are without one of DJ LeMahieu, Gio Urshela, Gleyber Torres or Tyler Wade for an extended period.

Gimenez went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and one stolen base in Sunday's win against the Marlins.

Gimenez has now started five of the last six games while helping to fill in for Robinson Cano (groin), but Sunday's performance was his most productive of his young major-league career as he scored three of the Mets' four runs. The 21-year-old is hitting .333 with two extra-base hits, five runs and three stolen bases over 14 games this season.

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Yankees.

Lowe took James Paxton deep in the seventh inning for his third home run of the season. He later came around to score the game-winning run in the ninth inning after reaching base on a fielder's choice. Lowe posted a .242/.265/.409 line against southpaws last season, yet all three of the of his home runs have come against lefties to this point in the campaign. Overall, he's hitting .275/.351/.588 across 57 plate appearances.

Biggio went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Sunday against the Red Sox.

Biggio took Nate Eovaldi deep in the third inning for his second home run of team's series against the Red Sox. Already at four long balls on the season, Biggio has shown improved power early on by maintaining a .231 ISO. He's struggled otherwise, hitting just .192/.276/.423 through 58 plate appearances, but also has a manageable 21 percent strikeout rate.
