Altuve is not in the lineup Friday against the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The 31-year-old has started all 17 games since returning from the injured list in late April, and he'll take a seat Friday while in the midst of a nine-game hit streak. Robel Garcia will receive the spot start at the keystone in Altuve's absence.

McNeil (cramps) will lead off and serve as the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Rays.

McNeil left Tuesday's game against the Orioles with what was referred to as "body cramps" and did not start Wednesday. He's ready to go following Thursday's off day, albeit only as a hitter for now.

Hoerner (forearm) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list as expected Friday and will bat eighth and play second base against the Tigers.

He spent a minimum-length stay on the injured list after straining his forearm during a collision with teammate Ian Happ in early May. Hoerner had gotten off to an excellent start in 11 games prior to the injury, hitting .389/.500/.556 with three steals. Nick Martini was optioned in a corresponding move.

Lowe is not in the lineup Friday against the Mets, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Lowe will head to the bench Friday with left-hander David Peterson on the mound for New York. Mike Brosseau will work the keystone in the series opener for the Rays.

Chavis started at second base and went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Thursday's 8-1 win over Oakland.

The noticeably leaner Chavis took advantage of a sinking liner to center field that eluded Ramon Laureano and stretched it out for a double to lead off the bottom of the first inning. That ignited a three-run inning, as Boston's bats came alive for the first time in four games. Chavis has started three straight, including two at first base for a slumping Bobby Dalbec, and could be making a push to stay in Boston even after the roster gets healthier. Dalbec rose to the challenge Thursday, going 2-for-4 with a home run.

Rosario went 1-for-4 with a run, stolen base and strikeout as Cleveland won Thursday's match with Seattle, 4-2.

The steal was Rosario's second of the year but proved meaningless in non-fantasy terms as Jose Ramirez homered to bring Rosario home later in the at-bat. It's encouraging to see Rosario more active on the bases after zero steals last season, though he'll need to raise his average (.222) or on base percentage (.287) above their current mediocre marks to be considered a viable option.

India went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and another run scored during Thursday's loss to the Rockies.

India contributed to a monstrous eight-run rally in the eighth inning by cranking a three-run long ball against Mychal Givens. It was just the second homer of the season for the 24-year-old, who is batting .222/.313/.358 across 28 games.

Arroyo (hand) took batting practice on the field before Thursday's game, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Arroyo is ramping up activity since being placed on the injured list Sunday. His next step could a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester over the weekend, though the team has yet to finalize any plans. Arroyo is expected to be activated from the injured list when first eligible for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Hernandez (hamstring) will be on a rehab assignment this weekend with Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Hernandez is set to serve as the designated hitter on Saturday and play in center field on Sunday. He is first eligible to return from the injured list Tuesday, and if all goes well on his rehab assignment it appears his activation at that time is realistic.

Biggio went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, a run, two walks and a strikeout in Thursday's 8-4 win over Atlanta.

Biggio had gone hitless in his last nine at-bats, but he reached base four times in Thursday's victory. The 26-year-old is now hitting .210 with three home runs, 13 runs and 10 RBI this season.
