  • Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL

Rays' Ha-Seong Kim: Dealing with hamstring issue

Kim (shoulder) was pulled off his minor-league rehab assignment Thursday due to right hamstring tightness, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Kim has yet to play in the majors this season while he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery, but he did begin a rehab assignment late last month and has appeared in 12 games for Triple-A Durham. Across 49 trips to the plate with Durham, Kim is slashing .211/.347/.263 with just two extra-base hits, four RBI, eight runs scored, two stolen bases and an 8:5 BB:K. Kim is expected to resume his rehab stint as soon as next week.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Officially called up

The Angels selected Moore's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Moore, the Angels' first-round pick in 2024, will make his MLB debut Friday, batting ninth and playing second base. The 22-year-old slashed .350/.424/.575 at Salt Lake City in 92 plate appearances and will get an opportunity to seize an everyday role at the keystone with the Halos.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Goes through light workout

Donovan (toe) went through a light pregame workout Thursday and Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol indicated the second baseman "felt a lot better," Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Donovan exited Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays and didn't play Wednesday or Thursday due to a sprained left big toe. While he appears to be on the mend, the Cardinals do not plan to play shorthanded much longer. A decision on whether Donovan needs a stint on the 10-day injured list is expected to be made soon.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Records RBI in loss

Fitzgerald went 0-for-3 with an RBI in Thursday's 8-7 loss to the Rockies.

Fitzgerald hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning, giving him an RBI in back-to-back games for the first time since April 16-17. The 27-year-old infielder has struggled through 11 outings in June, batting .121 with two RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and a 4:10 BB:K across 40 plate appearances this month.

  • Jose Devers 2B | ATL

Braves' Jose Devers: Not yet retiring

Devers (undisclosed) did not retire as previously reported and plans to continue his playing career, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports.

A previous report suggested that Devers had retired, but that report apparently came about due to an error in translation. He will continue to rehab an undisclosed injury that has kept him from playing for Triple-A Gwinnett since June 1. The 25-year-old infielder has maintained a .276/.279/.431 slash line across 61 plate appearances with Gwinnett this season.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Set for MLB debut

The Angels plan to select Moore's contract Friday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Moore was selected in the first round by the Angels in 2024 and has risen through their minor-league system quickly. He has excelled at Triple-A Salt Lake in 2025, slashing .350/.424/.575 across 92 plate appearances. Moore figures to start every day at second base and hit in a prominent spot in the lineup.

  • Jose Devers 2B | ATL

    Jose Devers: Playing days over

Devers has decided to retire from baseball, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports.

Devers briefly reached the majors with the Marlins in 2024, but he had spent the entirety of the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Gwinnett. Only 25, the reason for Devers' decision is not known.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Out of Yankees' lineup

LeMahieu is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Royals.

It's a regular day of rest for LeMahieu, who had started the previous five tilts and reached base six times in the first two games of the series. Pablo Reyes is at second base and batting eighth as the Yankees try to complete the sweep.

  • Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Held out Thursday

Chisholm (groin) is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Kansas City.

It's not a surprise that Chisholm is sitting out Thursday's series finale after he had to exit Wednesday's game with left groin tightness. The positive news is Chisholm has not been placed on the 10-day injured list and is considered day-to-day at this time. Oswald Peraza will pick up a start at third base for the Yankees.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Cleared for rehab games

Sosa (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Sosa had expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday, but he'll instead start up a rehab stint. He landed on the shelf in early June with a right hip flexor strain and should be able to rejoin the White Sox after a quick stay in the minors.
