Urias went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Thursday's loss to the Cardinals.

Urias got the Brewers on the board by taking J.A. Happ deep with a 381-foot shot in the third inning. Although he's been somewhat quieter at the plate recently, the long ball was his second of the week and his 23rd of the year. Overall, the 24-year-old is batting .248/.344/.447 in 148 games.

Hoerner (general soreness) won't return during the Cubs' final series of the regular season, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Hoerner hasn't been placed on the 10-day injured list, but he confirmed Thursday that he's shifting his focus toward returning to full health for the offseason. The 24-year-old appeared in 44 major-league games during the 2021 campaign and hit .302 with 16 RBI, 13 runs and five stolen bases. Sergio Alcantara should continue to serve as the primary shortstop to close out the regular season.

Gimenez is not in Thursday's lineup against the Royals.

The second baseman is on the bench for the second consecutive game. Over his last 10 contests, he has registered at least one hit in eight games while batting .379 with three home runs and seven RBI. Owen Miller starts at second base Thursday and will bat eighth.

Rosario is out of the lineup Thursday versus the Royals.

The shortstop will take a seat after starting the team's last six contests since returning from the COVID-19 list Sept. 24. In those contests, he got multiple hits three times and drove in four runs. Yu Chang gets the start at shortstop and is batting fifth Thursday.

Rojas is out of the lineup Thursday against the Giants.

Rojas is 2-for-14 over his past five games and will take a seat for the second consecutive contest. Geraldo Perdomo will receive another start at shortstop for Arizona.

Frazier went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run Wednesday in the Padres' 11-9 loss to the Dodgers.

Frazier has churned out multi-hit performances in three of his last four games to lift his season average to .307. Since coming over from Pittsburgh in a July 25 trade, Frazier's average sits at a more modest .272, and though he's chipped in five stolen bases over the past two-plus months, he's offered limited production in the other counting-stats categories (one home run, 25 runs and 11 RBI in 53 games).

Chavis went 0-for-4 on Wednesday in his first start since returning from the injured list.

He batted leadoff and started at second base and later moved to third base. With starting third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes (wrist) done for the year, Chavis figures to see steady action over the last four games. He's hit 17 homers in 2021, including 14 in the minors, and will be looking to impress his new organization before season's end.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts described the injury Lux sustained in Wednesday's 11-9 win over the Padres as a "neck stinger," Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Lux looked as though he injured his right shoulder when he collided with the center-field wall while chasing down a fly ball in the sixth inning, but Roberts offered a different diagnosis for the 23-year-old after the contest. Roberts indicated Lux will be re-evaluated early Thursday, but it wouldn't be surprising if he was held out of the series finale with the Padres later in the day even if the neck issue is viewed as a day-to-day concern.

Semien went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

With his first-inning blast off Gerrit Cole, Semien became the all-time single-season home run champ at second base, with his 44 long balls topping Davey Johnson's record of 43 set in 1973. The 31-year-old is one of only four second sackers in history to hit more than 40 homers in a year, joining Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby and Brian Dozier is a very exclusive club. Semien's September power display -- 12 home runs in 27 games -- is a big reason why Toronto is still in the hunt for a wild-card spot.

Torres went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays.

It's been a tough season for the 24-year-old, both in the field and at the plate, but he's at least putting together a good finish. Torres is slashing .294/.355/.412 through 24 games in September with two homers, two steals, seven RBI and 13 runs.
