  • Brett Wisely 2B | ATL

Giants' Brett Wisely: Multi-hit effort in win

Wisely went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI double in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Athletics.

Wisely lined a two-run double to right field in the sixth inning, giving the Giants a 7-1 lead. He added a single in the eighth, delivering his second multi-hit performance through four appearances in July. During that span, he's batting .385 with four RBI, two runs scored, two doubles and one home run across 13 plate appearances.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Begins rehab assignment

Bazzana (oblique) started at second base and went 0-for-2 for the Guardians' Arizona Complex League affiliate Saturday.

Bazzana began his rehab assignment after suffering an oblique injury in mid-May. He played just four innings in the field, and Cleveland has little incentive to rush the recovery of the first overall draft pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft. Prior to the injury, the 22-year-old Bazzana posted a .252/.362/.433 slash line with four home runs, 17 RBI, eight steals and 29 runs across 33 games for Double-A Akron.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Powers offense in Colorado

Sosa went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, four RBI and two runs in Saturday's 10-3 win against the Rockies.

Sosa entered the game in a bit of a slump with just four hits in his previous 22 at-bats, but he delivered his fourth three-hit game of the campaign Saturday while launching his seventh homer. The 25-year-old has been decently productive in a bad lineup through 73 games this year with a .275 average, 27 RBI and 24 runs, though his minuscule 2.6 percent walk rate has resulted in a .294 OBP and .713 OPS.

  • Diamondbacks' Blaze Alexander: Makes third straight start

Alexander started at second base and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Royals.

Alexander spelled Ketel Marte, who was given the day off, and made a third consecutive start. On Thursday, Alexander played second while Marte operated as the designated hitter, and the former started at third base Friday while Eugenio Suarez was the DH. Alexander is in line to take that utility fill-in role that had belonged to Tim Tawa, who was sent down to Triple-A Reno on Saturday to clear a roster spot for Corbin Carroll's return from a wrist injury.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Drives in three runs in loss

Rojas went 2-for-2 with a home run and three total RBI in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Rojas plated three of the Dodgers' four runs in the contest, knocking an RBI single in the second inning and adding a two-run homer in the fourth. He's been displaying more than his usual amount of power of late, homering three times in 21 at-bats over his past 11 games. Rojas had gone deep just once over his first 41 contests, and he's never hit more than 11 home runs in an MLB season, so fantasy managers shouldn't see him as a reliable source of power.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Goes deep in loss

Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk Saturday in a loss to the Rangers.

Cronenworth logged the Padres' only extra-base hit with a two-run blast in the second inning. He added a single in the fourth frame for his first multi-hit effort over his past 13 games. It's been a grind for Cronenworth of late, as he's batting just .184 (7-for-38) over his past 12 contests. He does have three home runs and eight RBI over that span, though.

  • Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Belts 15th homer

Chisholm went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk against the Mets in a loss Saturday.

Chisholm put the Yankees on the board with a 387-foot solo shot in the first inning, The veteran third baseman has now gone deep five times over his past 10 games, compiling 10 RBI and scoring seven runs during that span. Chisholm has been quite productive when healthy this season, registering a .245/.341/.500 slash line, 15 home runs, 38 RBI, 34 runs and 10 stolen bases over just 59 contests.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Removed as precaution

Torres (neck) suggested after Saturday's 1-0 win over the Guardians that he will be fine forward, and manager A.J. Hinch confirmed that Torres was taken out in the first inning as a precaution, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Torres took an elbow from Brayan Rocchio to the neck during a slide at second base and it unsettled him, but the infielder appears to have sustained only a minor injury. Torres is hitting .309 with four home runs, 18 runs, 15 RBI and zero steals over his last 25 games.

  • Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI

Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Keeps mashing left-handed pitching

Sosa went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Sosa belted his third homer of the campaign, also drawing the start at second base in favor the lefty-hitting Bryson Stott versus southpaw Nick Lodolo. As long as Philadelphia's infield stays healthy, the righty-hitting Sosa should continue to be used sparingly in a weak-side platoon role at the keystone. The 29-year-old utility man has been very effective in that role, hitting .361 (12-for-61) with three homers, three doubles and 10 RBI against left-handed pitching this season.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Suffers neck contusion

Torres exited Saturday's game against the Guardians with a neck contusion.

Brayan Rocchio's elbow made contact with Torres' head/neck area while Torres was sliding into second base Saturday. Trey Sweeney replaced Torres with Javier Baez sliding to second base. Torres should be considered day-to-day for now.
