After bringing home a run on a groundout in the sixth frame, Arcia gave the Rockies an 8-4 lead in the eighth with a solo shot off Genesis Cabrera to left-center field. It was just the third home run of the season for Arcia, with his last taking place June 29 against the Brewers. He has recorded a hit in each of his last five starts, going 5-for-18 (.278) over that span.

Marte has gone 9-for-30 (.300) during the first eight games of the Diamondbacks' current road trip, which wraps up Sunday. The second baseman opened the scoring early with his solo shot in the first inning and plated the tying run on a groundout in the fifth inning. He continues to provide a steady bat in the top third of the order, slashing .288/.390/.553 with 21 homers, 44 RBI, 56 runs scored, 15 doubles and two stolen bases across 79 games this season.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Three hits against O's

Hoerner went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles.

Getting a rare start at shortstop while Dansby Swanson received a day off, Hoerner banged out three of the Cubs' eight hits on the afternoon, with two of them bringing home runs. It was Hoerner's sixth multi-hit performance in 14 games since the All-Star break, a stretch in which the 28-year-old infielder is batting .358 (19-for-53) with a homer, three steals, seven runs and seven RBI.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

    Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Idle Saturday

Edman isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rays, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Edman will take a seat Saturday after going 1-for-4 with a run scored and two strikeouts in Friday's series opener. While he rests, Miguel Rojas will start at the keystone and bat ninth.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Logs seventh double in win

Schmitt went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a walk in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Mets.

Schmitt lined a double to left field in the second inning, driving in the Giants' first run. The 26-year-old infielder has hit two doubles in 11 games since the All-Star break, both of which came in his last three outings. During that 11-game span, he's slashing .205/.244/.333 with two RBI, a home run and a 24.4 percent strikeout rate across 41 plate appearances.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

    Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Multi-hit performance

Estrada went 2-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored Friday against the Pirates.

Estrada has started six of seven games since returning from the injured list. He managed his first multi-hit game in that span Friday, delivering a key knock in the ninth inning that drove in one to keep the Rockies' rally alive. Despite the nice performance, Estrada has gone only 4-for-24 in his last six games.

  • Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Four hits in loss

Gonzales went 4-for-6 with a run scored in Friday's 17-16 loss to the Rockies.

Gonzales extended his hit streak to five games after recording a season-high four base knocks. The 26-year-old hasn't provided much pop (five home runs) or speed (zero steals) through 47 games, but he's hitting .266 and should continue to occupy a prominent spot in the Pittsburgh batting order.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Starts at third in return

Gorman went 1-for-3 in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Padres.

Gorman missed nearly two weeks due to lower-back pain. He started and played the whole game at third base, which is likely to be his main path to playing time while Nolan Arenado (shoulder) is on the injured list. Gorman has had a rough season, slashing .221/.310/.407 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, 31 runs scored and one stolen base across 229 plate appearances , though his .717 OPS this season is an improvement on last year's .671 mark.

Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Goes deep twice in tight win

Sanoja went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 13-12 win over the Yankees.

It was just the second time this year that Sanoja amassed multiple RBI, and Friday marked his second three-hit attack of the campaign. The utility man has been highly effective in a part-time role lately and could be pushing for more action at third base in the absence of Connor Norby (wrist) -- Sanoja is batting .345 with three doubles, one triple and six RBI over his last 29 at-bats (11 games).

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

The 27-year-old has now hit safely in seven of his past eight games, collecting four extra-base hits, five RBI, five runs scored and three stolen bases during that stretch. For the year, he's slashing .235/.310/.342 with seven homers, 43 RBI, 43 runs and 17 steals across 389 plate appearances.
