Rojas (finger) is expected to begin a rehab assignment in the near future, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Rojas participated in live batting practice Wednesday, and he took grounders at shortstop ahead of Thursday's game against the Giants. The 27-year-old was initially targeting a weekend return, so he shouldn't require many rehab games before he's cleared to rejoin the major-league club.

Hoerner (oblique) participated in baseball activities Thursday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Hoerner has been on the 10-day IL for a week, but he did running/agility drills and played catch ahead of Thursday's game against the Rockies. The 24-year-old isn't believed to be particularly close to returning, but his return to baseball activities is a step in the right direction.

Rodgers went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Cubs.

In a mostly bleak season for the 47-61 Rockies, the development of Rodgers -- the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 first-year player draft -- has been a welcome sight. Rodgers has now put together a 10-game hit streak, bringing his season average up from .257 to .278 in the process. He'll bat second and man second base in Thursday's series finale.

McNeil is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins.

He has heated up at the plate recently, hitting .361 with two home runs, six doubles and eight RBI in his last 10 games. Jonathan Villar gets the start at second base and bats leadoff in what's a normal day of rest for McNeil, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Gonzales went 2-for-4 with a double and his seventh homer Wednesday for High-A Greensboro.

After enduring a 5-for-57 stretch, Gonzales has collected 24 hits in his last 65 at-bats. The second baseman has some pronounced splits thus far: he's slashing .300/.364/.620 with seven homers at home and .232/.315/.280 with no home runs on the road. After compiling an 89:79 BB:K in college, Gonzales has put up a 17:61 BB:K, something to watch as he moves through the professional ranks. Still, if he continues to hit at Greensboro then it wouldn't be surprising to see the 22-year-old promoted to Double-A prior to season's end.

Garcia went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Phillies.

The 21-year-old took Chase Anderson deep in the second inning before turning around a Matt Moore offering in the seventh. Garcia showed signs of emerging as a power threat at Triple-A this season, launching 13 homers in 37 games, and he's carried that forward into his latest stint in the majors, going yard three times in the last six games. He's still a work in progress at the plate, but Garcia's development will be key for the Nats' offense as the team rebuilds around Juan Soto.

Rojas (finger) had four at-bats against Luke Weaver (shoulder) during a live batting practice session Wednesday.

Rojas, who has been sidelined since dislocating his left pinky while attempting to steal second base July 21, is targeting a return for this weekend. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo has not commented on a projected timeline other than wanting to see Rojas get at-bats in the minor leagues. In Rojas' absence, Josh VanMeter has held down second base for Arizona.

Kim isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Kim has been filling in at shortstop with Fernando Tatis (shoulder) sidelined, and he's gone 3-for-8 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs across the last two games. Jake Cronenworth will shift to shortstop while Jurickson Profar starts at first base.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Mets.

His third-inning blast off Taijuan Walker gave the Marlins a 2-0 lead in a game during which they never trailed. Diaz hadn't gone yard since May 7 and has only three homers on the year, but he should get regular starts at second base while Jazz Chisholm (COVID-19) is sidelined and has been productive since the All-Star break, slashing .289/.372/.474 over his last 15 games.

India went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Twins.

He took Kenta Maeda deep in the fifth inning to give the Reds a 5-4 lead, but it was the last offense the team could muster. India continues to thrive in the leadoff spot for the Reds, slashing .294/.415/.588 over 17 games since the All-Star break with 17 runs scored and five of his 11 homers on the season.
