Braves' Ozzie Albies: Connects on homer No. 29

Albies went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-1 win against Arizona.

Albies launched a solo shot off Arizona starter Luke Weaver to give Atlanta an early four-run lead it wouldn't relinquish. The long ball is the 24-year-old's sixth of September as more than one third of his 16 hits this month have left the yard, though Albies is batting a mediocre .225 across 70 September at-bats.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Not starting Tuesday

Rojas is sitting Tuesday versus the Braves.

The second baseman will take a seat after starting seven consecutive contests, collecting eight hits. He'll be replaced at second base by Ketel Marte while Jake McCarthy will start in center field and bat seventh.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: On bench Tuesday

McNeil will sit Tuesday against the Red Sox, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

McNeil sits after starting nine straight games in left field, a stretch in which he hit .344/.382/.563. Kevin Pillar will fill in for him Tuesday.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Brewers' Luis Urias: Goes deep in loss

Urias went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Urias went deep off Jon Lester in the second inning for his 21st home run of the year. Urias has been used in an everyday role over the last two weeks with Willy Adames on the injured list. However, with Adames now officially reinstated, Urias may be the odd man out on playing time in the infield with Kolten Wong manning second base, Adames at shortstop and Eduardo Escobar at the hot corner. The 24-year-old Urias will certainly be given opportunities to hit and is now slashing .249/.342/.445 with 21 homers, 70 RBI, 73 runs scored, five steals and 57:107 BB:K over 531 plate appearances.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Draws start at second

Marte started at second base and went 3-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI in Monday's 11-4 loss to Atlanta.

Marte's three doubles give him 26 in 79 games this season and raised his slugging to a team-high .542. This was the third straight start at second base and fourth in the last five contests for Marte, who has been Arizona's primary center fielder this season when healthy. He may not be done as an outfielder, but the Diamondbacks have talked for a couple of seasons about splitting his duties more evenly between the outfield and infield as a way to sustain his long-term health. Daulton Varsho started in center field Monday.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Ends homer drought

McNeil went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run in a 3-2 win against the Phillies on Sunday.

McNeil singled and scored in the fifth inning before launching a solo shot in the seventh off Kyle Gibson to give New York a 3-2 lead that ended up being the final. The long ball was McNeil's first since Aug. 1 and only his fourth extra-base hit in September, and he's slashing .262/.303/.377 in 18 games this month.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Homers, drives in three

Lux went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 8-5 win over the Reds.

Lux took Wade Miley deep for a two-run shot in the second inning and added an RBI single in the third. Since being promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sep. 10, the 23-year-old has gone 11-for-24 (.458) with three extra-base hits and eight RBI. Lux has seven homers and 45 RBI through 350 plate appearances this season.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Activated from IL

The Cubs reinstated Hoerner (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Sunday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

As expected, Hoerner returns from his oblique strain, which has kept him out since late July, in time for Sunday's series finale in Milwaukee. The 24-year-old slashed .313/.388/.388 in 39 games before the injury and should get frequent starts in Chicago's middle infield going forward.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Returning to action Sunday

Hoerner (oblique) is scheduled to be activated off the 10-day injured list Sunday, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined since late July by a strained oblique, but he's poised to rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale at Milwaukee. Hoerner should have an everyday role in the middle infield for the final two weeks of the season for Chicago.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Socks triple in win

Lux went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI triple and a run scored in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Reds. He also drew a walk.

Lux came through with the big hit for the Dodgers on Saturday, mashing a two-RBI triple off Sonny Gray that got Los Angeles on the board in the fifth inning. After missing Friday's game with a forearm injury thanks to being beaned by the pitching machine, it looks like Lux is feeling A-OK.
