Nolan Gorman 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Breaks out of slump
Gorman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.
Gorman broke out of a 1-for-15 slump in a big way Tuesday, as he accounted for three of the Cardinals' four runs with an RBI double and a solo shot. The double was Gorman's first extra-base hit since Aug. 26, and the homer his first long ball since Aug. 11. After losing playing time recently, particularly against southpaws, Gorman will need to keep hitting if he is to earn regular at-bats.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Ends home run drought
Donovan went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Washington.
The rookie got St. Louis on the board with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, his third of the season. The solo shot ends a 143 at-bat stretch without hitting a home run, during which he had only three total extra-base hits. Donovan is still getting on base at a healthy .391 clip on the season, but he may lose playing time here and there if he cannot continue hitting the ball with more authority.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Scores three times
Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, three runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-3 win Tuesday over Cincinnati.
Hoerner reached safely in his last four plate appearances, scoring three of Chicago's nine runs. He's now 17-for-19 in stolen base attempts and is 8-for-9 since the All-Star break. The big night ended a 1-for-23 slump and the two hits were his first knocks of September. Including Tuesday, the 25-year-old has produced a .169/.234/.254 slash line since Aug. 17.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Not starting Tuesday
Rodgers is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus Milwaukee, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Rodgers started the past four contests and will head to the bench after he went 0-for-15 with three walks and three runs during that span. Ryan McMahon will shift to the keystone while Elehuris Montero starts at third base.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Bows out of Tuesday's lineup
Stott is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Marlins, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Josh Rojas 3B | KC
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Steals base in win
Rojas went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 5-0 win over the Padres.
Rojas swiped second base in the eighth inning and was one of two runners to come around on Christian Walker's two-out single. It was Rojas' 19th steal (caught three times), a career high at the MLB level. He has a history of activity on the basepaths in the minors, which didn't initially show in the majors, but Rojas has been more adventurous in 2022.

David Villar 1B | SF
Giants' David Villar: Goes yard in win
Villar went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-4 win over the Dodgers.
Villar drew the start at first base in this contest, his third start in the last four games since he was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento. He had gone 0-for-7 since the call-up before delivering a third-inning single and a two-run blast in the fourth. The 25-year-old infielder's had some trouble translating his success from the minors to the majors, as he's slashing just .181/.326/.319 with two homers, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, two doubles and a triple through 89 big-league plate appearances.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Homer and steal in win
Estrada went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 7-4 win over the Dodgers.
Estrada extended his hitting streak to nine games with a fourth-inning solo shot. During that span, he's gone 11-for-30 (.367) with a homer, a double, four RBI and four runs scored. While the lack of counting stats is a downside, Estrada continues to serve as the Giants' primary second baseman and occasional shortstop and left fielder. He's slashing .264/.322/.410 with 12 homers, 17 steals, 53 RBI and 59 runs scored through 115 contests.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Out until at least Friday
Lux (back) will not return until Friday in San Diego, at the earliest, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
He is recovering from a cortisone injection that he had Saturday, so the Dodgers will hold him out for this three-game series and then re-evaluate him after Thursday's off day. Mookie Betts is starting at second base Monday while Trayce Thompson gets extra work in the outfield.
