Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Expected back in lineup Friday
Donovan (rib) is expected to return to the Cardinals' lineup Friday versus the Brewers, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Begins running
Marte (hamstring) has begun a running program, MLB.com reports.
Marte began swinging a bat a week ago and has moved to the next step in his recovery. There's still no word of when the second baseman can begin a rehab assignment. The Diamondbacks are getting by with a combination of Tim Tawa and Garrett Hampson at the keystone.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Piles up three more hits vs. Giants
Turang went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Giants.
After going 4-for-4 in Tuesday's win over San Francisco, Turang piled up three more knocks Wednesday for his fourth game of the year with at least a trio of hits. The 25-year-old infielder is batting a scalding .350 with three home runs, 14 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 100 at-bats. Among qualifiers, Turang ranks fifth in the major leagues in batting average thus far.

Tyler Fitzgerald CF | TOR
Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Sitting down Wednesday
Fitzgerald is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Fitzgerald is slashing .406/.441/.719 with two homers, six RBI and eight runs across the Giants' last nine games, but the team will give him a day off Wednesday. Christian Koss will fill in at the keystone and bat ninth against Freddy Peralta.

Brett Baty 3B | NYM
Mets' Brett Baty: Launches first home run
Baty went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Phillies.
Baty got the Mets on the board with a two-out, 425-foot blast off Zack Wheeler in the second inning for his first long ball this season. After going 3-for-27 (.111) in his first 10 games this year, Baty has now gone 8-for-27 (.296) with four extra-base hits in his last nine contests. However, with Jeff McNeil (oblique) expected to rejoin the Mets on Friday, it remains to be seen if Baty has done enough to keep a spot on the big-league roster.

Adael Amador SS | COL
Rockies' Adael Amador: Getting regular run at 2B
Amador will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Royals.
After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on April 13 when Tyler Freeman (oblique) was placed on the injured list, Amador initially looked on track to fill Freeman's role as a backup infielder. However, with Ezequiel Tovar joining Freeman on the IL less than a week later, Amador has moved into a near-everyday role in the middle infield alongside Kyle Farmer. Amador will make his seventh start in nine games Wednesday, but he's thus far done little with his opportunity, going 2-for-20 with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Rockies' Kyle Farmer: Not in Colorado lineup
Farmer is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Kansas City.
Farmer has essentially been an everyday player for the Rockies this season, but he's now been out of the lineup for two of the last three games, including two straight versus righties. Aaron Schunk will be at shortstop and Adael Amador will be at second base for Colorado.

Luisangel Acuna 2B | CHW
Mets' Luisangel Acuna: Hitting bench Wednesday
Acuna is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Acuna will take a seat after he had started at second base in each of the last four games while going 4-for-13 with two doubles, one walk and three runs scored. Brett Baty will get the nod at the keystone Wednesday, but both he and Acuna may see their opportunities trend downward once Jeff McNeil (oblique) makes his return from the injured list, likely this weekend.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: Idle against lefty
Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Stott will head to the bench along with fellow left-handed hitter Max Kepler while the Mets send lefty David Peterson to the hill. Edmundo Sosa will check in for Stott at second base.
