Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Playing regularly amid struggles
Andrus will start at shortstop and bat eighth Wednesday against the Dodgers.

White Sox's Danny Mendick: Recalled by White Sox
Mendick was recalled by the White Sox on Wednesday.
Mendick was sent to the White Sox's alternate training site to begin the year, but he'll be called up to serve as infield depth after Tim Anderson (hamstring) was placed on the injured list Wednesday. Leury Garcia should serve as the primary shortstop in Anderson's absence, but Mendick could see some playing time as a backup.

Twins' Luis Arraez: Sitting out Wednesday
Arraez isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Christian Arroyo 2B | NYM
Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Starts at 2B, leads off
Arroyo batted leadoff and went 1-for-6 with a run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-innings win over the Rays.
Arroyo made his second start of the season -- both have come at second base in place of Enrique Hernandez -- but this was the first time he batted leadoff. Hernandez, Boston's primary second baseman who started in center field when Arroyo made his first start, got his first night off after opening the season 2-for-15 as Boston's leadoff hitter.

Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Sits for first time
Hernandez is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Rays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Continues thriving Monday
Lowe went 2-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Red Sox on Monday.
Lowe pushed his average and on-base percentage to .364 and .462, respectively, with his first multi-hit effort of the new campaign. The 26-year-old's early season success -- he's hit safely in all three of his starts thus far -- is in stark contrast to a Grapefruit League slate during which he slashed .179/.267/.205 across 45 plate appearances.

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Gets turn at shortstop
Polanco will start at shortstop and bat second Tuesday against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
With manager Rocco Baldelli extending Andrelton Simmons a day off, Polanco will move off second base for the first time this season after having made all four of his starts at the position. Polanco has played a small part in Minnesota's 23-run outburst between its last two games, going 2-for-9 with a walk while scoring three times and driving in one.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Twins' Luis Arraez: Back in action Tuesday
Arraez (illness) will serve as the Twins' leadoff man and starting second baseman Tuesday against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Arraez will check back into the starting nine after he was removed early in Monday's 15-6 win over the Tigers due to a case of the stomach flu. Before exiting, Arraez recorded a base hit and a walk in his two plate appearances, coming around to score on both occasions. He'll carry a .538/.647/.615 batting line into Tuesday's matchup.
