  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: On base three times Tuesday

Torres went 0-for-2 with three walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Astros.

While the 24-year-old wasn't able to extend his five-game hitting streak, he did reach base for the ninth straight game. Torres is putting his sluggish start to the season behind him, and while he's still looking for his first homer of the year, he's now slashing .240/.345/.290 with two steals, seven RBI and nine runs through 27 contests.

  • Royals' Whit Merrifield: Swipes two bags

Merrifield went 1-for-2 with three walks, a pair of stolen bases and a run scored during Tuesday's loss to Cleveland.

Merrifield had himself another solid night at the plate, reaching four times while recording multiple steals for the fourth time this year. The 32-year-old now leads the league with 10 stolen bases while slashing .273/.333/.436 with four home runs.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Notches fourth homer

Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs Tuesday against the Tigers.

Hernandez reached base multiple times for the first time in his last four starts. His effort was highlighted by a leadoff homer in the eighth inning -- his fourth long ball of the season. Hernandez hasn't had a particularly inspiring start to his first campaign in Boston, as he's managed only a .234/.291/.421 line across 117 plate appearances. However, he has managed to score 18 runs thanks to frequently leading off for the strong Red Sox lineup.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Contract selected by Texas

Ibanez had his contract selected by the Rangers on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old was sent to minor-league camp at the end of spring training and will join the big-league roster after spending the first month of the season at the alternate site. Ibanez is looking to make his MLB debut after posting an .872 OPS in 121 games at Triple-A during 2019. Brock Holt (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Not starting Tuesday

Andrus is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 32-year-old will head to the bench Tuesday while mired in a 3-for-26 slump over his past eight appearances. Vimael Machin receives the start at shortstop and will bat ninth while Andrus receives a day off to reset.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Indians' Andres Gimenez: Out of Tuesday's lineup

  • Danny Mendick 3B | CHW

White Sox's Danny Mendick: Back with Pale Hose

The White Sox recalled Mendick from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

He'll assume the active roster spot of outfielder Luis Robert (hip), who was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Leury Garcia is expected to serve as the primary replacement for Robert in center field for at least the short term, which should allow Mendick to operate as Chicago's main utility infielder.

  • Royals' Whit Merrifield: Belts fourth homer

Merrifield went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Monday's 8-6 loss to Cleveland.

He took Aaron Civale deep in the fourth inning, giving the Royals a short-lived 3-1 lead, Merrifield snapped a 22-game homerless drought with the blast, and on the season he's hitting .269 with four home runs, eight steals, 18 runs and 21 RBI through 27 contests.
