Twins' Jorge Polanco: Not starting Tuesday

Polanco (knee) is not in the lineup Tuesday against Kansas City.

  • Mark Mathias 2B | CIN

Rangers' Mark Mathias: Joins MLB roster

The Rangers recalled Mathias from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

  • Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: On bench Tuesday

Merrifield isn't in the lineup Tuesday against Baltimore.

It will be difficult to fit both Merrifield and Santiago Espinal, who's playing second base Tuesday, in the lineup every day now that George Springer's back in action. Merrifield has hit .250 with one RBI and one stolen base in nine games since joining the Blue Jays at the deadline.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Sits versus lefty

Lowe is on the bench Tuesday versus the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

  • Sam Haggerty LF | TEX

Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Swipes seventh base

Haggerty went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in a win over the Angels on Monday.

Haggerty's stolen base was part of a wild ninth-inning rally for the Mariners that the hot-hitting veteran ignited with a one-out single. Haggerty subsequently advanced on a wild throw to second by catcher Max Stassi and then swiped third base before escaping a rundown attempt to score Seattle's first run. The 28-year-old has been a constant thorn in the side of opposing pitching all season and boasts a .385/.433/.577 slash line across the 30 plate appearances covering his last eight games.

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Steps back into lineup

Dubon went 1-for-5 with a run scored Monday against the White Sox.

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Continues power surge

Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Mariners on Monday.
