  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Sitting out Patriots' Day game

Dalbec is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Travis Shaw will get a look at first base in the series finale, breaking a streak of five consecutive starts for Dalbec. During that five-game stretch, Dalbec went 3-for-20 at the dish, dropping his season average to .167.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Launches second home run

France went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run in a 7-2 win over the Astros on Sunday.

France singled and scored in the first inning to open the scoring and crushed a three-run long ball off Houston starter Jose Urquidy in the fourth to expand Seattle's lead to six runs. The 27-year-old enjoyed a successful weekend against the Astros, going 5-for-12 with two extra-base hits, and he is now slashing an impressive .289/.400/.500 for the season.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Four hits, drives in three

Freeman went 4-for-5 with a run and three RBI in a 9-1 win against the Reds on Sunday.

After striking out in the first inning, Freeman responded with singles in the fourth, sixth and eighth innings, with his two knocks in the fourth contributing heavily to a seven-run explosion. This is the prized free agent's first signature performance with his new team, though it would've been encouraging to see one of those hits go for extra bases. Freeman is now batting an impressive .324 but is slugging just .401 due to all three of his extra-base hits being doubles.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Homers in win

Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in a 5-0 win Sunday over Arizona.

Alonso reached on a fielder's choice and scored in the sixth and hit a line-drive two-run homer in the seventh off Matt Peacock. The Polar Bear has been an RBI machine in the early going with a league-leading 14 RBI in the first 10 games, nine of which have come in the last four contests. Sunday was the third time this season he has appeared as the designated hitter.

  • Matt Beaty 1B | KC

Padres' Matt Beaty: Second straight start

Beaty will start in right field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against Atlanta.

He'll stick in the starting nine for the second game in a row while top right fielder Wil Myers (thumb) remains on the bench for the third consecutive contest. If Myers' thumb issue results in him landing on the injured list, Beaty could end up settling into a strong-side platoon role in right field with either Jurickson Profar or Jose Azocar.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Padres' Luke Voit: Gets Sunday off

Voit is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

With Eric Hosmer picking up a start at first base and Jake Cronenworth getting a day out of the field and serving as the team's designated hitter, the Padres won't have room in the starting nine for Voit in the series finale. He'll be sitting out for the first time all season after going 6-for-34 (.176 average) with one extra-base hit (a double), five runs, four RBI, a stolen base and an 8:14 BB:K through San Diego's first 10 games.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Only bright spot Saturday

France went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

France provided nearly all of the offense for a moribund Mariners lineup Saturday night with his second multi-hit effort of the season. The 27-year-old has hit safely in four of the last five games and sports a solid .265/.390/.412 slash line through his first 41 plate appearances of 2022.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Won't start Sunday, but feels fine

Cooper (elbow) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies but is expected to be available off the bench, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper was pulled from Saturday's 10-3 loss after he sustained an elbow contusion while running the bases, but he took batting practice in the cage earlier Sunday and seemingly felt no worse for the wear. Though Cooper will be held out of the lineup for the series finale, he's likely just sitting as a precaution. If the Marlins had any concern about Cooper's elbow issue necessitating a stint on the 10-day injured list, the team likely would have called up first baseman Lewin Diaz from Triple-A Jacksonville. With an off day on tap Monday, expect Cooper to make his return to the lineup for Tuesday's series opener versus the Cardinals.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Rangers' Kole Calhoun: On bench against lefty

Calhoun is not in the lineup Sunday against the Angels.

Calhoun will once again take a seat with the Rangers facing a left-handed pitcher in Jose Suarez. Eli White will start in center field Sunday, pushing Adolis Garcia to right.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Not starting Sunday

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Naylor started the past two games after being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, but he'll take a seat against San Francisco lefty Alex Wood. Franmil Reyes will move out to right field while Jose Ramirez serves as the designated hitter Sunday.
