LaMonte Wade LF | HOU
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Sits in fifth straight contest
Wade is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Arizona, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It's the fifth straight game on the bench for Wade, who has a .173/.292/.333 slash line through 27 games this year. Most of those absences, including Tuesday's, have been against a left-handed pitchers, but it's not as though his replacement Luis Gonzalez enjoys a platoon advantage since he also hits left-handed. Wade delivered an .808 OPS with 18 homers in 109 games last year, but he's been unable to reproduce those results and is now losing out on playing time.

Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Placed on 10-day IL
Cooper was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right wrist contusion, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Cooper will head to the injured list, retroactive to Sunday, after being hit on the right wrist by a pitch Saturday versus the Pirates. The first baseman was forced to miss the last two games with the injury and will now be away from the team until August 3 at the soonest. Lewin Diaz was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday to replace Cooper on the active roster.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Officially placed on restricted
Goldschmidt (personal) was placed on the restricted list Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Goldschmidt is one of three Cardinals who will be ineligible to play in the two-game series in Toronto because of his vaccination status. The Cardinals start a three-game series with the Nationals on Friday, which the first baseman will be reinstated ahead of. Cory Spangenberg had his contract selected from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday and will replace Goldschmidt on the active roster.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Rays' Luke Raley: Tallies two doubles
Raley went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk Monday against the Orioles.
Raley made his third consecutive start and has been in the lineup for three of Tampa Bay's first four games coming out of the All-Star break. He's made the case for more consistent playing time in the Rays' depleted outfield by reaching base six times and collecting two RBI across 12 plate appearances in that limited span.

Nate Lowe DH | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Goes yard again Monday
Lowe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
Lowe has gone 7-for-23 (.304) with two homers and two doubles in five games since the All-Star break. The first baseman's ninth-inning blast got the Rangers within a run Monday, but they couldn't find the tying run. He's emerged as a reliable power bat in the middle of the order, slashing .272/.322/.444 with 14 homers, 41 RBI, 44 runs scored, 15 doubles and a stolen base through 90 contests.

Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: Goes deep in three-hit game
France went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a hit-by-pitch and two total runs scored in Monday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.
France accounted for the Mariners' lone extra-base hit in the contest when he took Glenn Otto deep in the fifth inning. Since the All-Star break, France has gone 6-for-15 (.400) with two homers. The infielder is up to 13 long balls, 51 RBI, 38 runs scored, 18 doubles and a stellar .312/.382/.485 slash line in 83 contests.

Evan White 1B | LAA
Mariners' Evan White: Set to resume rehab in August
White (groin) is set to resume his rehab assignment in early August, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
A setback in his recovery from sports hernia surgery has kept White off the field since the middle of June, but he took batting practice Monday and will seemingly do more work in the days ahead. Barring another issue, White should be ready to rejoin the Mariners at some point next month.

Dustin Harris LF | HOU
Rangers' Dustin Harris: Showing power, speed in Double-A
Harris has a .259/.349/.475 batting line with 15 homers, 17 steals and a 39:69 BB:K through 76 games for Double-A Frisco.
A high-average hitter at his prior minor-league stops, Harris has been held back by a .286 BABIP this year, which is quite modest by his standards -- it's never been below .329 at any previous level. Though his strikeout rate is up a bit this year, it's still more than palatable at 20.1 percent, and he's been particularly impressive in that regard recently -- Harris has just seven strikeouts (and 11 walks) in his last 81 plate appearances. With the Rangers in full-blown rebuilding mode, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 22-year-old get a crack at the majors at some point this year, but he's not currently on the 40-man, so the club may be content to let him ride out this season in the minors with an eye on contending for a role next year. The question will be where he fits in, as Harris has mostly played left field this season but could also profile at first base.

Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL
Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Poaching work from Gomes
Rivas will start at first base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Pirates.
Rivas looked primed to lose playing time when Frank Schwindel was activated from the injured list shortly before the All-Star break, but manager David Ross has been able to find more frequent work for both players by handing fewer starts to Yan Gomes, who appears to have settled back in as the team's No. 2 catcher. With Willson Contreras handling more work behind the plate of late, Rivas will be able to stay in the lineup at first base for the third time in four games, while Schwindel serves as the Cubs' designated hitter.
