Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Productive in win
Alonso went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Thursday's 6-4 win over Atlanta.
Alonso opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning, then added a two-run homer in the third. After a slight dip in power in early July, the first baseman looks to be back to his usual level with five long balls and four doubles in his last 10 games. He's slashing .278/.356/.554 with 29 homers, 91 RBI, 61 runs scored, two stolen bases and 20 doubles through 104 contests.

Carlos Santana 1B | ATL
Mariners' Carlos Santana: Welcome uptick in RBI production
Santana, who went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Yankees on Wednesday, now has 16 RBI in 30 games with the Mariners after posting just 21 in 52 contests with the Royals prior to being traded.
Santana's blast off Gerrit Cole on Wednesday locked in double-digit homers for the veteran for the 11th time in 12 seasons and extended a welcome stretch of RBI production for him since arriving in Seattle via trade June 27. Santana is hitting just .196 over his first 115 plate appearances with the Mariners, but he's managed a much more palatable .243 figure with men on base and has laced nine (three doubles, six home runs) of his 19 hits for extra bases.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Placed on injured list
Calhoun was placed on the 10-day injured list with right heel irritation Thursday, retroactive to Aug. 3.
Calhoun was slated to miss a second consecutive game Thursday against the White Sox, but his absence was apparently due to an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined until at least next weekend. The severity of the issue isn't yet clear, but prospect Bubba Thompson will have a chance to carve out playing time in the outfield after his contract was selected Thursday.

Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW
Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Back in bench role
Dalbec is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Even with southpaw Kris Bubic taking the hill for Kansas City, the Red Sox won't find room in the lineup for the righty-hitting Dalbec, who started each of the past 12 games at either third base or first base. Dalbec's path to playing time at the hot corner closed Tuesday when Rafael Devers was reinstated from the injured list, and Dalbec won't have a regular spot in the lineup at first base either with Eric Hosmer (neck) having been cleared to make his team debut Thursday after being acquired from the Padres earlier in the week. The lefty-hitting Hosmer also has a stronger track record against left-handed pitching at the big-league level than Franchy Cordero did prior to being demoted to Triple-A Worcester, so Dalbec may not even be in line for a short-side platoon role moving forward.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Riding pine Thursday
Calhoun isn't in the lineup Thursday against the White Sox, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Calhoun has hit just .135 with a double, two runs and two RBI over 13 games since the All-Star break, and he'll be on the bench for a second consecutive matchup. Bubba Thompson is starting in left field and batting ninth.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Rays' Luke Raley: On bench versus righty
Raley is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The lefty-hitting Raley will take a seat against a right-hander (Drew Hutchison), marking the third time in four games he's been excluded from the lineup. Though Raley appeared poised to get regular playing time in the outfield when the Rays moved Josh Lowe and Brett Phillips off the active roster, the trade-deadline pickups of David Peralta and Jose Siri may result in Raley settling into more of a part-time role.

Dominic Smith DH | ATL
Mets' Dominic Smith: Rehab assignment begins Thursday
Smith (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Smith has been sidelined with a right ankle sprain since mid-July but has now been cleared to return to game action with the minor-league club. The Mets recently acquired Daniel Vogelbach and Tyler Naquin, so it's not yet clear whether Smith will have a regular role with the big-league squad once he's deemed fully healthy.
-
Nick Pratto 1B | TEX
Royals' Nick Pratto: Not starting Thursday
Pratto is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.
Pratto is 2-for-24 with seven walks and 14 strikeouts over his past nine contests and will head to the bench Thursday. Michael Massey will enter the lineup in his place, with Hunter Dozier shifting to first base.

Luke Voit 1B | NYM
Nationals' Luke Voit: Making debut, will play regularly
Voit will start at first base and bat third in Thursday's game against the Phillies.
The lone veteran the Nationals took back as part of the six-player haul they received Tuesday in the deal that sent Juan Soto and Josh Bell to the Padres, Voit will be making his Washington debut Thursday. Though he's 31 years old and doesn't necessarily fit in with the 36-70 Nationals' long-term rebuilding plan, Voit is under club control through 2024 and is expected to be a key cog in the lineup for the time being. Manager Dave Martinez confirmed Wednesday that Voit will be the Nationals' first baseman or designated hitter for the rest of the season while slotting into the heart of the order, according to Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com.

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Padres' Josh Bell: Scores twice in Padres debut
Bell went 0-for-2 with two walks and two runs in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Rockies.
Each of San Diego's three offensive trade-deadline acquisitions -- Bell, Juan Soto and Brandon Drury -- who played in the contest reached base multiple times, though Bell was the only one among them who didn't record a hit. Still, he made an impact by drawing two free passes and scoring twice. Bell figures to settle into an everyday role at first base for the Padres and is enjoying a solid season with a .300/.385/.491 slash line, 14 homers and 57 RBI.
