Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH
Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Managing fatigue
Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that Kurtz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros due to lower-body soreness/fatigue, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Kurtz went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run in Saturday's 5-1 win after his historic 6-for-6 performance Friday that included four home runs, eight RBI and six runs. The rookie will get a well-deserved break Sunday, with Kotsay characterizing Kurtz's absence from the lineup as more of a rest day, even though the skipper conceded that Kurtz was dealing with some fatigue. Kurtz will still be available off the bench Sunday and should return to the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Mariners.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Losing out on playing time
Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Goldschmidt will be on the bench for the third time in the Yankees' last four matchups, this time against Zack Wheeler. For the season, Goldschmidt is slashing just .246/.292/.332 in 276 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, and he could continue to cede more starts in those matchups to Ben Rice, who has produced a 131 wRC+ versus righties.

Michael Toglia 1B | COL
Rockies' Michael Toglia: Losing out on regular starts
Toglia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Toglia appears to have lost his regular role at first base to Warming Bernabel, as he'll be on the bench Sunday for the third time in four games. Since getting called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on June 16, Toglia has hit .193 with four home runs and one steal in 30 games while continuing to strike out at a high rate (37.3 percent).

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | SD
Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Out against lefty again
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
O'Hearn will hit the bench for the third time in four games while the Orioles face off against another lefty starter in Austin Gomber. O'Hearn is slashing just .212/.317/.269 in 60 plate appearances versus southpaws on the season and looks to have moved into a pure platoon role.

Spencer Steer 1B | CIN
Reds' Spencer Steer: Out of Sunday's lineup
Steer is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
Steer started the first two games of the series and will receive Sunday off after going 1-for-7 with two walks, a run and three strikeouts. He's batting just .213 (13-for-61) with four extra-base hits through 19 contests in July. Santiago Espinal is starting at first base in the series finale.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Crushes 14th homer
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Tigers.
That's now five straight multi-hit performances for Guerrero, and he capped the latest one with a ninth-inning homer off Chase Lee that left his bat at 105.3 mph, the third of three Blue Jays long balls in the final frame. Guerrero has been locked in since missing a game in early July after fouling a ball off his foot -- over his last 17 contests, he's slashing .385/.481/.569 with two of his 14 homers on the season, along with six doubles, two steals, 10 RBI and 15 runs.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Mariners' Josh Naylor: Extends career-high steal total
Naylor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Angels.
Naylor extended his hitting streak to six games, and he also stole his career-high 12th stolen base. The first baseman's fantasy value may end up taking a dip as he transitions from hitter-friendly Chase Field to pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park for home contests -- he posted an .855 OPS through 49 games at home for Arizona in 2025 -- but Naylor should see plenty of RBI chances in the heart of Seattle's order. Since the start of June, he's batting .277 with four home runs, five doubles, 22 RBI and three steals over 137 at-bats.

Bryce Harper DH | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Reaches double digits in steals
Harper went 1-for-5 with a walk, a solo home run and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Yankees.
Just a couple days after slugging career homer No. 350, Harper hit his 351st while also swiping his 150th bag for his 10th steal of the season. The 32-year-old has come out of the All-Star break firing, batting .303 (10-for-33) over the last eight games with four doubles, five home runs, eight RBI and nine runs.

Jake Burger 3B | TEX
Rangers' Jake Burger: Targeting Aug. 8 return
Burger (quad) will resume hitting Saturday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
A left quad strain sent Burger to the injured list July 16, and if everything goes according to plan, the slugging infielder aims to return to the Rangers' lineup Aug. 8 against the Phillies. He still has a few more hurdles to clear before he embarks on a rehab assignment, however, so it's still too early to tell whether he'll meet his goal.

Michael Toglia 1B | COL
Rockies' Michael Toglia: Not starting Saturday
Toglia isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
After going 0-for-15 over his last four games, the switch-hitting Toglia will step out of the starting nine Saturday against left-handed starter Trevor Rogers. Warming Bernabel will make his MLB debut as Colorado's first baseman while Toglia rests.
