Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Another three-hit effort Friday
Cronenworth went 3-for-5 with a triple and one RBI in Friday's 9-6 win over the Rockies.
Cronenworth has posted back-to-back three-hit efforts after going 9-for-62 (.145) over his previous 17 contests. The infielder has been more miss than hit for much of the season with a lackluster .217/.327/.371 slash line over 62 games. He's added six home runs, 22 RBI, 26 runs scored, eight doubles, four triples and three stolen bases. Despite his flaws at the plate, including a career-worst 23.0 percent strikeout rate, he remains a near-everyday presence in the lineup.

Brandon Dixon 1B | SD
Padres' Brandon Dixon: Knocks second homer
Dixon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-6 win over the Rockies.
Dixon padded the Padres' lead in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old remains confined to a part-time role, leading to inconsistent playing time. He's struck out 10 times while going just 4-for-26 (.154) over his last 10 contests. For the season, he owns a .212/.259/.365 slash line with two homers, five RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base through 58 plate appearances.

Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Exits with right shoulder injury
Pasquantino left Friday's game against the Orioles with right shoulder discomfort, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports. He went 0-for-3 before exiting.
Pasquantino was replaced by Matt Duffy at first base. It's likely Pasquantino will likely undergo further testing on the shoulder to determine the severity of the injury, but at this point the 25-year-old should be considered day-to-day.

Marlins' Yuli Gurriel: Day off Friday
Gurriel is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the White Sox.
Gurriel will take a seat after he went 0-for-8 with a run scored while starting twice during the Marlins' three-game series with the Royals. Garrett Cooper will draw the start at first base and bat fifth in the series opener with Chicago.

Mets' Pete Alonso: Expected to miss up to four weeks
Alonso was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a bone bruise and sprain in his left wrist, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
He was sent for a CT scan and MRI on Thursday after getting struck by a 97 mph Charlie Morton fastball in Wednesday's game versus Atlanta, and Alonso is now expected to miss the next 3-4 weeks. The power-hitting 28-year-old had delivered an .872 OPS with a league-leading 22 home runs and 49 RBI through 62 games this season with the Mets, who are starting Mark Canha at first base Friday in Pittsburgh. Mark Vientos could also be an option.

Mountcastle is out of the Orioles' lineup Friday due to an illness, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Out against lefty
O'Hearn isn't in the Orioles' lineup Friday versus Kansas City, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
The left-handed slugger will sit Friday as the Royals prepare to send southpaw Daniel Lynch to the mound. O'Hearn is batting .250 (7-for-28) over his last eight games with five extra-base hits but a 1:10 BB:K.
