  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Adds three hits Tuesday

Torkelson went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's loss against the Guardians.

Torkelson has now hit safely in five straight games, going 9-for-22 with three doubles and a homer in that span. After a disappointing rookie campaign and a slow start to the 2023 season, Torkelson is starting to hint at the potential that made him the first overall pick in the 2020 Draft. He's boosted his slash line to .240/.294/.372 with three home runs, 12 runs scored and 16 RBI through 143 plate appearances this year.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting versus southpaw

Tellez is not in the starting lineup versus the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Tellez will get a breather as the Brewers face off with left-hander Clayton Kershaw in the series finale Wednesday. The first baseman has gone 5-for-21 with a solo homer and two RBI while striking out eight times versus southpaws this season. In his place, righty bat Luke Voit will draw the start at first base and bat seventh against Los Angeles.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Sitting versus lefty

Naylor will sit Wednesday versus the Tigers.

Naylor will head to the bench as the Guardians face off with left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound. Josh Bell will start at first base while righty bat David Fry enters the lineup at third base, batting fifth in the series finale with Detroit.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Hot hitting continues Tuesday

France went 2-for-4 with a two-run single and a run in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday.

France's timely third-inning knock plated Tom Murphy and Sam Haggerty with the first two runs of the night while extending his hitting streak to seven games. The surging first baseman has given his slash line a much-needed boost to .271/.359/.391 over that sample, which includes three multi-hit efforts in the last four games.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Mashes 11th homer

Olson went 1-for-2 with three walks, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Red Sox.

The first baseman hammered a hanging curveball from Nick Pivetta on the first pitch he saw in the first inning, and Boston pitchers wanted no part of him the rest of the night. Olson extended his hitting streak to seven games with the blast, his third in the last five contests and his 11th of the year. Despite a career-worst 33.3 percent strikeout rate so far in 2023, he's recorded an impressive .250/.382/.551 slash line with 29 RBI in 36 games.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Slugs 12th homer

Alonso went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Reds.

The Mets launched four homers in total on the night, but three of them were solo shots including Alonso's seventh-inning blast off Luke Weaver. The first baseman is having a slow start to May, batting just .167 (5-for-30) through nine games, but he's still tied with Max Muncy for the major-league lead in home runs with 12.

  • Dominic Smith 1B | ATL

Nationals' Dominic Smith: Drives in lone run in loss

Smith went 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Giants.

Smith was a bright spot for the Nationals in a tough game. This was his third multi-hit effort through nine games in May, and he's batting .407 (11-for-27) for the month. The first baseman is up to a .270/.360/.311 slash line with a home run, seven RBI, 13 runs scored and two doubles through 33 contests, playing a near-everyday role in a weak offense.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Continues monster season

Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Pasquantino drilled a slider 430 feet in the first inning to open the scoring and then singled home Bobby Witt in the sixth inning to get Kansas City within a run. However, that was all the scoring the Royals could muster. Pasquantino hit 10 homers in 258 at-bats last season, but already has seven in 136 at-bats in 2023 on the way to an outstanding .905 OPS.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Continues driving in runs

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over Kansas City.

Vaughn put the White Sox ahead for good with his two-run homer in the sixth inning. The first baseman has four extra-base hits in his last three games, as he has pumped his OPS up to .775. Vaughn has a team-high 28 RBI on the season.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Crushes 10th homer

Tellez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss against the Dodgers.

The Brewers didn't score until the seventh inning when Tellez took Shelby Miller deep. Tellez is on pace to hit over 40 home runs for the first time in his career. His slugging percentage sits at .540, up from .461 last season.
