  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Doubles twice, drives in three

Naylor went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Naylor extended the Guardians' lead to 3-0 with a two-run double in the third inning before driving in a third run with another two-bagger in the seventh. The 26-year-old is batting .355 (43-for-121) over his last 30 games with seven home runs and a 1.019 OPS. His slash line on the year is up to .304/.345/.504 with 15 homers, 79 RBI, 41 runs scored and six steals across 369 plate appearances.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Sitting Thursday

Vaughn isn't in the White Sox's lineup Thursday against Cleveland, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Vaughn is 2-for-8 with two RBI since returning from a foot injury that kept him out for five games. He'll catch a breather Thursday as Yasmani Grandal fills in at first base, allowing Seby Zavala to start behind the dish.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Brewers' Carlos Santana: Traded to Milwaukee

Santana was traded to the Brewers on Thursday in exchange for Jhonny Severino, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Santana is well past his prime at age 37, but he was sporting a decent .723 OPS with 12 home runs and 53 RBI through 94 games this season for the Pirates, who signed him to a one-year, $6.73 million contract over the winter and have now flipped him into a promising young shortstop prospect. Brewers first basemen have posted a combined .212/.272/.340 batting line this year, so Santana represents an upgrade at the position for Milwaukee. He can also cycle in at designated hitter.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Pops homer in win

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 11-7 win over the Diamondbacks.

Goldschmidt went 4-for-12 with a pair of homers and five RBI during the Cardinals' three-game set in his old stomping grounds in Arizona. That productive stretch doubled his homer total for July. The first baseman is slashing .285/.373/.477 with 18 long balls, 55 RBI, 64 runs scored, 21 doubles and nine stolen bases through 99 contests.

  • Michael Toglia 1B | COL

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Making most of plate appearances

Toglia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Nationals.

Toglia has gotten five consecutive starts at first base with C.J. Cron (back) sidelined. He's now collected hits in each of his last three games while tallying a double, a homer, three RBI and three runs scored. Cron is expected back Friday, so Toglia's playing time in the short term will likely dry up, but he could see more run across the final two months of the campaign depending on the Rockies' moves at the trade deadline.

  • Gabriel Arias SS | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Two hits, steal in win

Arias went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-3 win over Kansas City.

Making his first start since July 21, Arias tallied a pair of hits, snapping an 0-for-20 stretch that dated back to June 21, while logging his first stolen base of the year. The 23-year-old Arias is now slashing just .188/.295/.306 with four homers, 15 runs scored and six RBI across 166 plate appearances this season. While Arias hasn't provided much offensively, he should see an uptick in playing time following Amed Rosario's trade to the Dodgers.

  • Ryan Noda 1B | BAL

Athletics' Ryan Noda: Back to taking BP

Noda (jaw) has been cleared to begin hitting again while donning a batting helmet, the Associated Press reports.

Manager Mark Kotsay labeled the latest benchmark in Noda's recovery from a fractured jaw "a good sign" and added that the rookie is set for another evaluation with his oral surgeon next week. Noda's ability to begin taking batting practice again should help him preserve some timing, although he's likely to require a rehab assignment before his eventual activation.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Pirates' Carlos Santana: Plays hero Wednesday

Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Padres.

All three Pittsburgh runs came on solo shots, but it was Santana's blast in the top of the ninth inning off Robert Suarez that proves to be the difference-maker. The 37-year-old switch hitter has been productive since the All-Star break, slashing .250/.388/.575 with four doubles, three homers and eight RBI in 12 games.

  • Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Hits two-run shot

Montero went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.

Montero jumped on a hanging curveball from Jake Irvin in his first at-bat of the contest and sent it into the stands in left field, scoring Harold Castro as the Rockies took a 2-0 lead. The 24-year-old third baseman would then go down on strikes in each of his next three plate appearances as Colorado fell to the Nationals in dramatic fashion. It was certainly a nice start for Montero in his return to the lineup after being promoted from Triple-A, though he's now struck out seven times over his last three games in the big leagues.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Gathers three hits in loss

Walker went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 11-7 loss to the Cardinals.

Walker's ninth-inning, two-run homer was the first baseman's second in three games. The first half of July was not kind to Walker (4-for-40), but he's turned it around in the second half. Walker's hit safely in seven of the last nine games, going 13-for-34 (.382) with four doubles, four home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored during that stretch. His 22 home runs and 67 RBI lead the Diamondbacks.
