  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Another multi-hit effort Monday

France went 2-for-3 with a walk in Monday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.

France had been mired in a brief 3-for-17 funk coming into Monday, so his three trips on the basepaths were an especially welcome sight. The veteran infielder has still put together a productive August despite the recent skid, as he's now sporting a .284 average, .877 OPS, nine extra-base hits, 12 RBI, 12 walks and 11 runs over 25 games during the month, getting on base another nine times while being hit by pitches.

  • Hunter Goodman RF | COL

Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Quick start to big-league career

Goodman went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Monday against Atlanta.

Goodman was called up Sunday and has made a pair of starts at first base since. He's experienced quick success by collecting four hits across eight at-bats while also driving in two runs and scoring once. While clearly a small sample, Goodman did boast prolific production between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque earlier in the campaign by tallying 34 homers across 467 plate appearances.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

Astros' Jose Abreu: First homer since return

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI and two walks Monday against the Red Sox.

Abreu got the scoring started for Houston with a solo homer off Chris Sale in the second inning -- his first since being activated from the injured list Aug. 23. He's produced plenty in the four games since, going 5-for-17 with five RBI and two runs scored. Abreu's increased production has stretched a bit further, as he has four home runs, 16 RBI and 16 runs scored in 27 games since the All-Star break.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Pirates' Alfonso Rivas: Splitting time at first base

Rivas went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI on Monday against the Royals.

Rivas has split starts at first base with Connor Joe evenly across the last 12 games. He's struggled to collect hits consistently since joining the Pirates on Aug. 3 by going 11-for-53, though seven of his 11 knocks have gone for extra bases. Monday, Rivas had one of his more productive games in the last month, which was highlighted by an RBI double in the eighth frame.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Smacks homer in loss

Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Padres.

Goldschmidt has regained his power swing with three homers over his last eight games, and he's gone 10-for-28 (.357) with seven RBI in that span. The first baseman is hitting .278 on the year, his lowest mark since 2019, and he's added an .828 OPS with 22 homers, 69 RBI, 75 runs scored and 10 stolen bases through 128 contests.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Goes yard in win

Freeman went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Freeman has been dialed in over the last nine games, going 16-for-39 (.410), but his first-inning blast Monday was his first homer since Aug. 6. The first baseman was not totally void of power in that 19-game stretch, racking up 10 doubles. He's slashing a magnificent .340/.415/.583 with 24 long balls, 87 RBI, 109 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, 50 doubles and two triples through 130 contests as he's putting forth another MVP-caliber season.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Padres' Garrett Cooper: Drives in three runs

Cooper went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Monday's win over St. Louis.

Cooper knocked a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh inning and added two insurance runs in the ninth. He's collected multiple hits in four of his last five games and has gone 16-for-49 (.327) since being acquired by the Padres. For the season, he's slashing .266/.311/.432 with 51 RBI and 30 extra-base hits.

  • Rockies' Elehuris Montero: Sitting in third straight

Montero is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Montero is on the bench for the third consecutive game. He looks like he could be the odd man out of the lineup for the time being while the Rockies get a look at rookie Hunter Goodman in an everyday role at first base.

  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

Royals' Nick Pratto: Nearing rehab assignment

Pratto (groin/hip) is expected to resume his rehab assignment later this week, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Pratto recently suffered a "minor setback" in his recovery from the lower-half injury that sent him to the injured list in late July, but taking a few days off appears to have resolved the issue. He's slated to go through all baseball activities Tuesday. Barring any issues, Pratto should resume playing in minor-league games before the week comes to a close.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Left out against lefty

Wade is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Wade worked off the bench the past two days with left-handers starting for the opponent, and he will find himself in the same spot Monday with southpaw Andrew Abbott toeing the rubber for the Reds.
