With Twins outfielders Oswaldo Arcia and Josh Willingham set to rejoin the roster Monday, manager Ron Gardenhire didn't exactly give a ringing endorsement Sunday to Chris Colabello, who is mired in a 0-for-22 slump and is batting .110 in his last 20 games.

"He's not swinging very well right now," Gardenhire said, per the Pioneer Press.

Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera was not in the lineup for the third straight game Sunday due to a left ankle injury. Cabrera is expected to return as early as Monday against the White Sox.

Reds first baseman Joey Votto appears unsure if he will be ready to return from the disabled list upon his eligibility on May 31, per MLB.com.

Votto expressed optimism about his progress as he recovers from a quad injury, but was vague about how far along he is.

Indians struggling third baseman Carlos Santana, who was serving as a designated hitter Saturday, slammed his sixth home run of the season in a win over Baltimore. He launched it barely over the outstretched arm of Nick Markakis with one on in the seventh to conclude the scoring.

Santana, who also walked three times, has shown signs of emerging from his season-long doldrums with hits in four of his last five games. He does own a respectable on-base percentage of .319 and ranks second in the majors with 41 walks.

Knee issues have kept Indians first baseman Nick Swisher and shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera out of the lineup for the second straight game. Both are sidelined Saturday afternoon in Baltimore.

Cabrera had an MRI on the left knee Friday and could miss the Sunday game as well, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Swisher has soreness in the inside of his right knee.

Both had emerged from early-season slumps to different degrees. Swisher has hit safely in seven of his last eight games to raise his average from .199 to .211. Cabrera has skyrocketed his mark from .205 to .259 over the last 14 games.

Cabrera took a pitch off the knee Wednesday and left the game Thursday night against the Orioles when it became sore. He is not in the starting lineup Friday and remains uncertain for Saturday in Baltimore.

Cabrera was hitless Friday night, but has 21 hits in his last 56 at-bats to raise his average from .205 to .259 and his slugging percentage from .299 to.391.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo broke an 0-for-10 hitless streak Thursday night - and he did so in style.

Rizzo slugged a two-run homer in the fourth inning to overcome a 1-0 deficit and jump-start his team in a win over host San Diego. He added a double in the eighth that sweetened his stat line to .275/.410/.463.

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu will remain in a walking boot through the weekend, as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

"He's here today, receiving treatment," general manager Rick Hahn told the Daily Herald Thursday. "He remains in the boot and will stay in the boot through the weekend. We'll re-evaluate next week. So far he's progressing and we continue to be optimistic about him being ready about the time the 15 days are up."

Abreu has been on the disabled list say May 18 as a result of the injury, and seems on track to return in early June. 

Mets infielder Wilmer Flores got his batting average over .300 for the first time Wednesday, in a 4-3 win over the Dodgers.

Flores strung together three singles to finish the game 3 for 4, though he did not make an impact otherwise. He is hitting .318/.400/.318 in 22 at-bats for the season.
