Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera (groin) and Steven Souza (wrist) were held out of the starting lineup Tuesday against the Mariners. It was the second straight day both players were sidelined.

Tim Beckham started at shortstop and Brandon Guyer was back in right field for a second straight day as well.

Souza said his wrist is feeling better. He said some mild pain, but there is no swelling. He is hoping to avoid the disabled list.

Cabrera said he is available to pinch-hit and is hoping to be back in the lineup Friday.

The Reds have adjusted their starting lineup on Tuesday, trying to break out of a nine-game losing streak. Shortstop Zack Cozart will bat leadoff for just the fifth time this season while first baseman Joey Votto will bat second for the second straight day after batting third for the majority of the season. 

Cozart is hitting .218 with 28 doubles in 459 at-bats from the lead off position. Votto is hitting .301 with 31 RBI in 186 at-bats from the two position in the lineup.

The Angels optioned designated hitter C.J. Cron to Triple-A on Monday, reports MLB.com. Cron is hitting .204 with one home run in 98 at-bats this season.

"I wasn't playing much," Cron said, per MLB.com. "Obviously when you're not playing, you're doing something wrong, and the opportunity is not there for you to just prove you belong. I knew in the recent stretch there was a chance [of getting optioned].

"When you're getting at-bats every once in a while, it's hard to get your timing right. That's what I'm going down for, to get better timing and to start swinging like I know I can."

The team plans to call up outfielder Grant Green, sources told MLB.com. Green is 2 for 6 in three games for the Angels this season.

Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich went 2 for 4 with one RBI and a double during a rehab assignment game for the team's Class A affiliate Monday.

Terdoslavich is on the disabled list with a wrist injury. He has not played for the Braves this season.

Blue Jays left fielder Chris Colabello drove in two runs in Monday's win over the White Sox.

Colabello went 1 for 4 and scored once, driving in his twelfth run of the year. Colabello has driven in runs in three of his last four games and has two RBI in two of the last four.  

Indians first baseman Carlos Santana hit his fifth home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning of Monday afternoon's 10-8 loss to the Rangers. 

Santana took a 1-1 pitch out of the ballpark to put the Indians on the board after the Rangers took an early 3-0 lead. He finished the game 1 for 3, drew two walks and scored two runs. He's now slashing .224/.367/.371. 

Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores went 1 for 4 at the plate in New York's 6-3 win over the Phillies on Monday. Flores did his damage in the sixth inning when he crushed a three-run homer over the left field wall off of Julio De La Cruz, his seventh of the season.

"Wilmer's a very sharp guy so he gets it, he understands what they're saying. He goes out there with the ability to have yesterday be yesterday and to be ready for today," manager Terry Collins said per ESPN.com. "He made an error one night early in the game and took some abuse, and then the next eight ground balls were hit to him, he fielded them perfectly. He didn't let it get to him and I think that's why as we get deep into this season he's going to be a pretty impressive kid."

Flores is now hitting .252 with 19 RBI in 143 at-bats on the season.

Cabrera suffered a mild groin sprain on Sunday and will be replaced by Tim Beckham at shortstop on Monday. He did say that he's feeling better and hopes to play Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Souza was removed from Sunday's game after suffering a sprained left wrist on a foul tip. His absence will earn Monday call-up Jake Elmore a start in left field.

The Rays are favorites (-128) at home on Monday, per VegasInsider.com.

Braves outfielder Joey Terdoslavich will begin a rehab assignment with Class A Rome on Monday, the team announced.

Terdoslavich has been on the disabled list all season while recovering from a wrist injury. He hit .256/.337/.385 with 15 home runs and 61 RBI in 507 at-bats with Triple-A Gwinnett last season.

The Reds have shifted the heart of their order up, with first baseman Joey Votto batting second, third baseman Todd Frazier batting third and right fielder Jay Bruce batting fourth on Monday against the Rockies.

The Reds have tried a multitude of options in the No. 2 spot after moving Votto out of it on April 26, but they'll go with Votto, Frazier and Bruce in the second, third and fourth positions for just the second time this season, with former cleanup hitter Brandon Phillips batting leadoff.
